I think the issue is that some women can get away with just relying on being a woman. You get used to the easy life, and then you find hard work more difficult.

I've noticed this in myself, where my work load for the past few months has reduced and now I'm finding that busy days are more tiring. Being in this situation for a decade would make it extremely hard to snap out of, and I'm sure I'd be pretty grumpy about it.
