A lot of people think there will be a major shift in the job market with automation taking over a lot of industries. This is probably true to some extent, but I always look back at the story of internet and paper when people try to predict the effects of technology.

Back in the late 90's, people were predicting that paper/office supply companies would go bankrupt because of computers and the internet. You wouldn't need snail mail because of email, wouldn't need pen and paper because of word processing software etc. It turns out, paper consumption actually increased over time. The internet did displace some paper documentation, but not as much as people expected, and the increased commerce boosted overall paper consumption.

So perhaps automation will displace some jobs, but generate many more new ones. For the MGTOWs out there worried about their future source of income.
