You don't need to buy Gillette anything.

Go to Amazon, WestCoastShaving, ShaveNation or Italian Barber.

Order a double edged razor. Here's a list of great choices, pick one:

1) Merkur 34C

2) Edwin Jagger DE89 LBL

3) Muhle R89

All of them are $20-35. You really want to stick it to Gillette? Go buy a Superspeed from the 50s on eBay, they'll make no money off of it (and they're trying hard to get back into the DE market with their new King Gillette chinese made razor).

Buy a sampler pack of DE blades. Those are like $15. Use them all and find which one works best for you. After that a pack of 100 will run you about $25-30 and will last you two years.

Get a shave brush. A Razorock Plisson is cheap, makes lather great, and doesn't require a break in period. Want a natural brush? Semogue 1800 is $20. Want a badger brush? Get a Simpson or Vulfix.

Soaps are plentiful and most of them are cheap. Arko shave soap is $7 for three sticks which will last you a year, maybe two. You can grate one into a mug if you don't like the stick. Prorasso Green has menthol and eucalyptus, Cella is a great performer that smells like almonds and cherry. Or try the Razorock soaps, they purposely keep the cost affordable, have great scents, and are family owned.

Aftershave? Thayer's Witch hazel will ease irritation and not dry out your skin like a typical aftershave. Lucky Tiger is great too.

DE shaving is cheaper, it becomes a great morning ritual and is way better for your skin. The slightly higher upfront cost will pay off greatly in the long run.

As someone who never heard of Scotch Porter I clicked the link. What is their business? Who knows from that page? All I could surmise is that it has something to do with snappily dressed black dudes. They could have been selling alcohol or jackets or taco shells for all I know from reading the copy. The one thing I do know is that they want you to perform free labor for their advertising campaign. At least was there a link to their company website? Nope. If it weren’t for the comments here, I would still not know what is their product, outside of conducting a contest with no prize.
