When I was growing up, it was frequently pointed out to boys in school (invariably by women) that "girls are more mature than boys". ...And, since girls were less boisterous and reached puberty first, we just accepted this.
But of course we were never told that females largely remain stuck, both mentally and emotionally, at that age, and that women are for the most part just children in adult bodies. ...One is never told that women's neoteny goes deeper than just their appearance.
Unlike males, females are not expected to mature, nor do they even need to mature, given the dynamics between the sexes.
A female stops maturing when she hits puberty and realises that she now has power over males. The abundance of sex-starved, desperate males means that almost all females acquire this power at around age eleven.
Power at a young age does not conduce to maturity, but to its opposite --- capriciousness, cruelty, self-centredness, hedonism and irresponsibility.
And this is why the "women's movement" is characterised by endless and ever more childish demands, whereas the "men's movement" is more about self-reliance and taking control of one's life. It is why men go their own way and why women complain to the government that men should be doing more for them.
A male who can overcome his desire for a female has unplugged the source of her power over him.
Alas, few males manage this. ...Or even try to, sadly.

...Though not to stay married!
As I'm sure you know, women initiate the vast majority of divorces. This alone gives the lie to the mainstream lie that women are all about commitment.
The truth is that when it is claimed that women value commitment more than men do, what is meant is that women want men to commit to them. Women don't regard themselves as being obliged to stay with their men.
And why do women want men to commit to them?
Because women are the prime beneficiaries in marriage --- not men. A woman gets a lavish wedding ("her big day") where she is the centre of everybody's attention, and thereafter has legal access to her husband's resources, which she can steal from him any time she pleases using the divorce courts. Is it any wonder that these creatures are more interested in getting married than men are?!
