This isn't commendable, it's literally why socialism doesn't work. Take 1 million from one person, distribute it between 1 million people, and the only thing you've gained is 1 more poor person.

If a man in his abundance wanted to voluntarily give money to these men as an act of charity, more power to him.

If this man had some way to give some of these people regular work in these times, that $10k might've been better used as seed money. Then, if he made a profit, he could think about expansion and hire more people. (Yay capitalism!)

Either way, I prefer what he did over socialism any day of the week.
