Oh yeah, that's very pervasive. All the women on Tinder who say "not her for hookups" and similar it's because they are all set in that department.

I learned that the hard way when a woman I was dating had a (maybe more) FB/FWB on the side, when I confronted her I was told that I had no right to assume exclusivity just because we were dating and we hadn't had the exclusivity talk. This was further confirmed by talking with some friends and by Reddit.

So I learned the lesson.

These days I no longer date, but I have FB/FWB and they are out there on Tinder and going on dates; often they stop by my place for sex before or after a "date" to make sure they don't give away the "I need sex" vibes.
