If you're working a basic job off a 6 month trial period, then chances are you're working it only to show the government that you're trying to be employed in order to justify remaining on assistance.
Chances are she's daisy-chained such jobs most of her adult life, working just long enough to remain qualified, then intentionally getting herself fired so that she doesn't have to work anymore.

Most states are what's called "right-to-work." Essentially either you or the employer can say "this doesn't work for me" and it's no slight either way.
It sounds abusable when I've talked with my European friends about it, but it's mostly used to remove shitty employees. I've never seen it used firsthand as vindictively or politically, but I'm sure it happens sometimes.

Yes its seems abusable.I dont know how you can handle daily living without a mental peace that you wont lose your job for no reason.In Europe you cant be fired in one day, unless you fuck*d something hard for example you came drunk to work. If employer doesnt want you anymore he needs to employ you for termination time (2 weeks termination time for new workers, 1 month for employee working more than half year, 3 months termination time for emplyee who worked at least 3 years). Ofcurse if employer doesnt want you to come to work, you dont go to work while in termination time, but he has to pay you for it anyway.

To me it looks like this ethic doesnt apply to employers since they can fire you for literally no reason. In Europe this ethic seems logical to me - you fuk up hard and dont do you job on purpose you are fired immediately, but if you work fine firing you immediately would be fuked up.

If the employer does it legitimately for no reason, they'll be crucified in the court of public opinion. If they're shitty to their workers, they won't have workers, then they won't have a business.
Again though, in my 30 years of living, I've yet to see it used first hand to fuck someone over that didn't deserve it. It has always been pulled as a way to get rid of crappy workers.
There's no fear, or a sword of Damocles over the worker's head, at least not in my experience (as both worker and manager). Also given the cost of training workers, immediately firing someone is frowned upon. It's typically a last resort and a way to get rid of bad workers without having to pay them out for any longer.

I live on a shithole country where it's very hard and expensive to kick employees off. And the legal system almost always sides with the employee. That's why I envy the American system. Maybe in Europe people are less assholes and the current system works fine there.

You're forgetting something important though, because companies work towards profit, if you're an excellent employee (earning more for the company than what they're paying you) they don't want you to leave. The definitely don't want their competitors to have access to your talents. You have a high value to them.
Now if the industry/position in question is easily filled, yeah, those positions might be more cost effective to keep an influx of rookies coming in rather than trying to pay wage increases to more senior staff.
For instance you rarely see a 10+ year experience Cart Pusher/Wrangler (where that is their only task) at a grocery store, if that employee wants to get paid more they're going to have to accept additional responsibility otherwise it's cheaper to pay a high-school student to do the same job.
Yes it can be abused, however, the company will quickly garner that reputation and find they have to change their tactics or be forced to have a staffing shortage. The alternative was also abused, where toxic employees would hold companies/positions for ransom under thread of lawsuit. This attitude and atmosphere would drive away quality employees and leave a business in a position of either closing its doors or facing a lawsuit.

One does not have ethics when it is imposed on you by government force.
A company following the law is not "ethical" it is doing what is required
I company that is not required to say giving a severance, or anything at all but CHOOSES TO because it is the right thing to do, that company is acting ethically.
We have many many many many ethical companies in the US that go above and beyond what they are legally required to, this is one of the reasons why US employee resist government force in these matters because if government mandated X chances are companies would only do X instead of something more.
We in America dislike government intrusion into our lives, I am perfectly able to negotiate and evaluate my employers myself, I do not need mommy government

Let me be more clear, more men are unemployed now then the great depression (percentage wise and most of these are men in the 20-40 range even) and more then half a million are on financial assistance...and you wite it off with by saying these are just idiots that cannot do any jobs.
Face it, Americas work ethic is pathetic.
Just look at how trade skills like electircians (50,000+ in four years with paid training) are currently struggling to find apprentices because of how poor our work ethic has become (we want money without having to actually work hard for it).
Even when you consider the people that are working, a large chunk of them are unproductively playing on there phones every chance they can get.
While a large factor in this is that we aren't offering good enough incentives for working hard (even punish it) and people who work hard aren't respected like they use to be...
...it doesn't change the fact that America's work ethic sucks.

The thing you're missing out of this is that its not cheap to replace someone. It's time consuming and expensive. First you have to pay/put time into hiring (flyers,online,whatever methods), then the interview process, then the training process which means you have to pay someone to train the new employee so both are getting paid to do 1 job. If you're short staffed it makes things worse for you because now you have to either pay people overtime or change the schedule to complete the shifts for the employee you just fired. We don't have termination time here, once you're fired you're fired.
Employees also get the benefit of quitting whenever they want, sure they will burn bridges but that's their right.

I agree with this. My experience at many jobs (especially in my professional field) reflects the same.
Honestly, generally speaking a lot of American companies are especially nice about it. They often give a worker 1 or more chances to reform their bad behavior before ever getting fired. Or there's a procedure in place that involves a written warning or etc.
When I screwed several of my bosses sat down with me and discussed the problem nicely and didn't make wild threats about firing me. They were very mature and professional about it.
Perhaps not so much in lower-paying blue-collar jobs, but definitely in a "real" company environment it's typical. I'd say it's rare that a worker just suddenly gets fired and "left out in the cold."
People who get fired, I've noticed, often won't tell you that they've been doing dumb things over a period of time and had multiple chances to correct it but didn't.
