Fcuk off with this tradcon. I won't be a warrior, I won't defend cunts. I will play video games all I want.

Yeah! Freedom fuck yeah! MGTOW all the way!

[Fuck] off with this tradcon. I won't be a warrior, I won't defend cunts. I will play video games all I want.
I agree about the tradcon part, and the (rephrased) 'ignore females, acquire currency' part. I have a slightly different take on the OP image. Play all the video games you want, but put in some minimal effort at exercising, to keep your body strong, and to reduce the mental health issues that come with being overweight/obese. I struggle with my weight and inactivity, and I found the OP image (and other similar r/MGTOW images lately) as inspiration to start a new habit of stepping away from the damn computer and feeding trough for a bit, exercising outside, eat better, and doing some resistance training (body weight training [pull ups, push ups], and probably a gym too, if I can find a cheap membership).
Fat is estrogen-producing, and literally turns men into women. I guess I'm sick of being that way, which is why I found the OP image inspiring. If I carve out maybe 3 to 6 hours a week to spend on exercise, I bet I'll feel a lot better, and be better able to do all my sedentary stuff (computer work, video games, reading).
But hell yeah, I agree with most of what you wrote.

Yes, I excercise every day. My mody is a temple.

Amazing, succinct argument that refuted each of his points.
I don't think kaczan3 will recover from it. LOL!

you don't want to be a boy in Sparta... ;)
remember that women there got to wear your shield after you died, did not have to go to war, or even give a shit about training, and marry another because you are worthless and don't provide enough
[–]gaylortang24 points25 points26 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not only that, when their husbands died in war, they inherited all the money. Then theyd remarry and take that guys money when he died. Spartan women were filthy rich oligarchs who financed every move the spartan kings and their armies made. Sparta declined and was reduced to nothing more than a village because their men kept dying and their women never allowed any immigrants to naturalize into citizens (presumably because no man could match up to their ridiculously high standards in order to be eligible citizens/bachelors).

I have 'cooking fire' hotkeyed and can cast it in 2 seconds flat. Not only does it allow cooking, it increases the versatility of those around by 2!

While survival skills and the general ability to protect yourself or what you care about is all well and good, these were not societies we should strive to replicate.
Personally, I hate the idea of fighting. Unless we're talking about shooting an intruder in your home, fighting is often a pointless waste of blood. I hate feeling like I'm playing a game of alpha-male smackdown with other men, especially when it's over a woman. It reminds me that we're just apes pretending to be something more.
Other men, like the Spartans, can act like bloodthirsty warriors for the sake of providing for spoiled women if they want. Meanwhile I'll be the hermit sitting on the mountain top enjoying the sound of a babbling brook.

[–]desertfox169 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Tbf that wouldn't have been the majority, most men were basically treated like disposable trash and would have just been simple farmers. In Sparta they had to have a huge slave class to support themselves.

Just like today except the women call their slaves "husbands"

Those other cultures sound cool. Begone thot. I have no time for you. I have to go kill my dinner.

damn all that book learning, now we fight with our words instead of our knives!!!
All this cherry picking is making me sweaty and salty just at the sight of it.
But I do like how it normalizes martial arts. I should do more of that, and I rely on social cues like humans do, so this post does help me with feeling more open to martial arts. Makes sense for those warriors. Sounds like a cross cultural examination of martial arts would be interesting
But back to my saltiness, weren't those boys supposed to kill a slave as part of their training!? I mean, shit, we could just have been born as one of their slaves, and that sounds fucking whaaaack

The Spartans did not even conquer other parts of Greece.
Be Genghis Khan. That man had a rough start in life but he conquered half the world and pumped and dumped as needed.
I highly doubt that his death was due to being killed by a woman. He had around 40 years of experience in banging war booty. He knew every trick in the book, no way a princess with dagger can get to him.

I kind of like living in a world of peace where I don't have to worry about an invading army coming to kill me at any moment

If you want to be a warrior join the Infantry, simple. Stop bitching, actually be a man
[–]SmamelessMe1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
At the same time half of children died before reaching age of 15. It was the survival of the strong, healthy and yes, fortunate.
[Insert ancient name] warrior is the ultimate survivor bias. Not in how those survivors were raised.
Want to be elite warrior of today? Join special forces door kickers. Can't make it? Is it possible you are one of the lucky ones who would have died in past?
To be clear here, I am no fan of safe spaces. While they can be useful for a minority of psychologically sensitive people, the way they are promoted glamorizes weakness. But at the same time I reject ancient warrior cool factor as an example of ideal situation we should strive for.

Many martial arts schools exist, I suggest 2 forms from around 5 or 6, bjj and a striking form. Look around, watch them train before you sign your kids up, look for a school with intensity and passion.

Why is he learning Tae Kwon do? It is an inferior art form. Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, boxing, or Muay Thai is what he should be learning.
[–]AureliusJudgesYou0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Because that's what's available in our region. It's this and BJJ, rest are 2 hours drive or more. I think that TKD is more suitable to youngsters to start (5yo) than BJJ which I enjoyed more after my teen years.
[–]Fights-In-Dark 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Our kids BJJ program is awesome, but yea I just realized if you’re not in America the wrestling and boxing are going to be hard to find
