Don't subscribe male rationale to females. It doesn't work like that.
If a man is left on read by a landwhale with 4 kids and no job it stings, it silently communicates that you are even less desirable (not really) than her/ she has more options.
However...
When a woman is left on read, by any male, she simply disregards him as being "not enough of a man". She views him as a coward that doesn't even have enough courage to speak. She feels validated because she interprets your silence as fear, that you fear her and slink into the shadows as a result.
It doesn't hurt them, it boosts them. Welcome to clown world.

Work on your communication skills; be more outgoing and people oriented, this will open up the door for networking. There are a lot of computer science people that are anti social. Get work experience before you graduate dealing with your major. Whether its at a junior level or a basic computer sci job you have to start somewhere. Thats where you do all the grunt work and show your worth. Make sure they see and know you work hard. I started at a small company making minimum wage and now making 4x more 5 years into my career.

He means “on read” he looks (reads) the message and doesn’t reply. The other person sees that he has (read) the message. Thus leaving them “on read”

Oh, so he's letting them know he read it but doesn't reply. Ahhhhhh.....
I was thinking he's left it unread like if your messenger is open and you can see the message but if you don't touch it it looks unread by the sender.
His method is even colder. I love it.

yes if you get a message from <x> and you ignore it, then they don't get a flag saying their message had been read, so you intentionally didn't read what they sent.
