It's interesting that i've experienced this with mates. An argument breaks out over something, it escalates, we'd get into a physical fight. Then, it's over... done... forgotten. We've resolved it and gone back to being friends, it's never been mentioned again (unless in jest) and there is no malice between us, and the friendship continued for years and we watch each others back and look out for each other.

I think most men recognize that one event, one mistake, one disagreement, does not define a man or the friendship between men.

A woman will punish you 10 years later for a minor thing you did (or that she perceived you of doing) 10 years ago like it just happened an hour ago and the anger and need for revenge is still there and that one thing you did sums up the entirety of who you are as a person.
