It's a way for feminists to hate men but not say they're hating men. It's a politically correct term for man hating.

That's not a joke, here's how it works.

Feminists use it to get around man hating, but to claim there's just all these male traits that are "problematic" so that's what they hate, not the man himself.

This is similar rhetoric to when Christians say "Hate the sin, not the sinner"

Feminists use it to basically list everything that makes a man as toxic, and that it's really hurting men, and if men would stop being men, uhhh....having toxic masculinity.....then they'd be much happier.

Traits such as competition, strength, responsibility, accountability, etc. are all toxic. They'll also list rape, assault, violence, etc. as toxic because, clearly, all men are rapists and violent.

So it's "toxic" because some feminist said it was, so bend the knee, lick the glove, and give her all your money, then she'll say you're not toxic. It helps if you pledge allegiance to the FinDom flag and socialism, because that's all feminism is now.

So it's not men that are toxic, it's just anything men do, say, experience, or are in their nature, biological or social. They rarely explain how precisely competition is toxic, other than it's against socialism so it's bad. Feminists only have problems with violence when they aren't in control of determining the target of violence, so that's toxic. Any male sexuality is toxic and therefore bad.

So take a male body, fill it full of estrogen, castrate it, and raise it as a girl and it'll be non-toxic.

tldr; It's just a politically correct term for "man hating" because they're tired of the label of being man haters, which, of course, they are.

There is no clear cut definition of Toxic masculinity, but generally it is a shaming tactic used by feminist to control mens behavior. For example, oh he is talking very loud on his phone in a public place trying to dominate the room, typical toxic masculinty. The simple fact is that this guy might just be inconsiderate, or more likely does not notice he is annoying people. But by reducing it to his masculinity and then calling it toxic they can argue that said behavior should change since it is hurtfull. And this gives them a blanket bombing of all behavior they do not like which men might have. So this man jay walked - toxic masculinity, this man is lifting much weight in a gym showing off - toxic masculinity, ect ect. Ofcourse if a female shows said behavior it is just toxic, or mabye not even that. The weirdest one I heard was that female who show behavior which could be argued is toxic masculinity are females who internalized certain masculinity to fit in, therefore her behavior is still toxic masculinity, however she cannot help it since she was forced to by the patriarcy or something.

I have never heard the term given a proper definition. Most of what feminists would describe as “toxic” masculinity is either made up or actions that could easily be attributed to both sexes such as bullying or harassment. In my mind, there is no toxic masculinity

The problem is, it's used to describe every behavior by males.

It's like, if a man does it, it's due to his masculinity which is toxic and therefore 'bad.'

So even if behaviors don't fit the definition, feminists and women in general misuse it, or deliberately use it as a weapon.

So they see a guy do something, it's automatically his toxic masculinity. Like, say, a man disagrees with some woke, SJW concept that some woman learned in her gender studies course, and he's able to back up his assertions with facts. Those facts don't matter because he was 'mansplaining' and the fact that he had the audacity to disagree with her in the first place was 'toxic.'

So at the end of the day, a man can't win. No matter what he does, it's 'toxic.'

So just remember, there's the definition, and then there's the way it's used to bludgeon men over the head and shame them.for being men.

People who are toxic spew it and project it. It’s an extreme attempt by women to do what they have done from the dawn of time... change men into what they want them to be. But many men have lost patience. We are quitting their game where all the rules are stacked in their favor.

And now they’re pissed. Just like if they want to argue and we just remain silent, it infuriates them.

It changes so much depending on the speaker. I've read feminists who say that toxic masculinity is even when a man wishes to distinguish himself from women in anyway-ie. stating their are differences.

You will notice that this feminist's frame of reference is women--any deviation from 'women' is toxic.
