TRP and MGTOW are not even closely related. I have no idea why they keep getting a mention as some kind of cousin organization.

Each to his own though. I started off in life like Kevin Savage from the Wonder Years (If you remember that show). Innocent and starry eyed. I had very little luck with the ladies but eventually I realised getting laid or having a hot girlfriend was something that I wanted really badly. Unfortunately wanting something badly isn't enough. Neither is trying the same old shit that doesn't work.

Back then the internet wasn't really a thing, people didn't just google for suggestions they discussed shit with people they knew or invented their own.

So it was that I became what is now known as a PUA. But the term feels kind of scammy. Like you're misrepresenting yourself. The approach I took was more to represent myself correctly. I was never that kind of douche who lied about my job or who knew what a pump and dump was. I merely tried to improve my social skills to attract women - seems fucking harmless right? Well in 2017 that's now called pick up artistry.

Point is I can fully relate to what it was like being in my 20's and wanting to fuck hot women and I don't hold it against any guys who are red pill. Life has taught me from experience it just left me high and dry in the end, but I didn't really have good solid mentorship and it seemed fairly logical at the time.

If I could do it all again I would have focused much more on me, making me more attractive (and I don't mean lifting fucking weights) I mean totally focused on my own pursuits and success, and then let the women come to me. PUA methodology is bullshit in the sense that you're desperate for sex / women and use your charm for temporary, short term gains - but nothing lasts.

So I recent unsubbed from TRP...for the very reasons the OP and many others have mentioned. The message and image depicted over their doesn't cover the whole of the problem. The singular focus is getting pussy, not building a stronger, more dynamic generation of men. But because of that singular focus, the majority of young bucks looking to soil their oats gravitate to it like moths to a flame. The problem is just following TRP tropes will only get you laid. You're still going to be unfulfilled as a man, and still wondering why your standing among stronger willed men is still trivialized. If getting laid is your only end game, you haven't graduated to the big boys table yet.

In the grand scheme, we're just hairless monkeys with instincts trying to survive dude. We have our desires and we pick our paths accordingly, each man has some power over his destiny. Whether he sees through the rp lens or observes the mgtow mantras, at least these sites give men who have been betrayed by society some hope, knowledge, and advice to improve themselves or at least make life more bearable. I follow both, as I find a little bit of truth in both dogmas, and Im thankful for both. Without these subs I'd still be a blue pill idiot living a lie and being taken advantage of. Now one of my greatest satisfactions in life is living for ME.

RP is the knowledge, the facts. PUA and MGTOW are the major creative decisions that arise from that knowledge.

I would presume that PUA is usually the decision younger men make, and MGTOW for the older or more experienced. INCEL and VOLCEL are seen in both camps and they represent a kind of negativity or 'failure to launch'.

All of them are singularly focussed on sex, except for MGTOW. MGTOW is the only one focussed on self-actualization and for that reason, I agree with the OP.

Both philosophies have their place in the manosphere. Like it or not, MGTOW is a part of the manosphere and so is TRP. Maybe they put pussy on a pedestal, maybe they're "too alpha," and maybe you and I shouldn't give a shit. If you want to learn how to fuck bitches, follow TRP. If you don't give a shit about that, follow MGTOW.

Here's a CRAZY concept for some of you incels. MAYBE, just maybe there's MGTOW who also follow TRP. Maybe out of two-hundred plus thousand TRP subscribers there's some who follow MGTOW as well.

Maybe the whole point of MGTOW is to mind your own fucking business and not bitch about what other men do with their time. I know is just sounds contrary to popular MGTOW belief, but maybe every man has the right to go his own way.

The Red Pill Woke me up & ultimately opened my eyes to MGTOW, TRP taught me how dust myself up and get back on the horse but MGTOW gave me another option that I preferred, the right to walk away. I had no idea that was an option in away MGTOW is the second RED PILL

I see the merit in both TRP and MGTOW and don't fully subscribe to either. At their core, I like them both.

As a group, TRP seems to be full of a lot more douchebags, more try-hards, and more followers than they think, but it also encourages good personal development; MGTOW, on the other hand, is full of more bitter and angrier people. But it also has some really insightful, almost enlightened people whose philosophies I respect.

TRP is for the wolf pack and MGTOW for the lone wolf.

It may be contradictory, but I think there can be a good balance between them.

I just wish MGTOW didn't have such a stupid sounding acronym. I fucking hate it.
