Yup, I had one. I have been adamantly against having children since I was about 13. I just flat out don't see the point. They're a money, time and energy pit and my life philosophy eliminates things like that as a personal rule. Maybe I'm selfish, but I enjoy spending all my resources on things I actually enjoy, not things that society tells me I HAVE to do as a responsibility.

On a different level, I don't want the anxiety of someone else deciding to have my child when I know they're not worthy to begin with. I had a pump-and-dump last night. I wore a condom to protect from STD's and I know I'm incapable of impregnating her. I will never again feel the anxiety for weeks at a time after a hookup, wondering if she might get pregnant or I might catch an infection.

I had one in my early twenties. I wanted to prevent my future self from fucking up. Never regretted it at all. Especially since I hate condoms.

I thought about this a lot. I’m not against vasectomy in general, but honestly I don’t want to do it, at least for now. I’m still 21 and, for me, it’s far too soon to decide to get something irreversible for the rest of my life. Yes, it would be great to not worry about getting a girl pregnant after casual sex (even though it could still happen), but I don’t know. What if I’ll want to have a son in the future? I sometimes fantasize about it. It’s so hard for me. Plus, I think it’s better to get more studies and researches on this process. Just my opinion.

I can imagine since birth rates are on a decline... they will likely outlaw vasectomies to prevent men having a say in anything.

Yes, 2 years ago after my wife and I divorced I got one. We always wanted 2 kids, had one kid then a couple years later she started seeing someone else. I love my son more than anything and my life revolves around the two of us now, which is a blast! I have no desire to have any other kids or to sacrifice any of my free time for a serious relationship. I think without my son I might not have gotten one, but since I have him I am perfectly happy not having any more kids.

I’ve been seriously looking into this. However, I have a friend who got his girl pregnant after having a vasectomy. Unfortunately, there is still a risk of failure. Plus some say it hurts pretty bad...so I’ll just stick to prayer and preparing her a plan B breakfast in bed

I got one almost two weeks ago. Still has some soreness. I had two kids so I did my duty to man kind. It’s liberating to think I don’t have to worry about being baby trapped. I can give my kids everything and not worry about future kids wanting a piece of it. The kids I have now are all I will ever have. I think they would appreciate me not spawning competition for them as well.

A bitch cannot make me marry her. But she can make me a father without my permission. When there is 80% odds of relationship failure with this creature at some point, emotional/financial abuse, cheating, incarceration, criminal records, unemployment, suicides. Why on earth would I produce a child with one! Do I want to add child abuse to her list of shit she can pull? Vasectomy was the best thing I ever did for myself. My anxiety after having sex almost evaporated after that.

I got one when I was on active duty. There were several guys in my unit that got baby trapped and it turned their lives upside down. I was 22 and knew I was in no way ready for kids, nor if I ever would be. I also hated the idea of not being totally in control of my future. . . Which, in hindsight, was ironic being that The Army had my future in the palm of its hand. Atleast I chose that life. Nobody made me sign up for that. I would ba damned if I could be “signed up” for fatherhood without my consent.

Best choice I ever made. On two separate occasions I had women tell me they were “late”. I laughed them both off and dropped them hard. They needed to find some other schmuck to get BAH & Tricare from, lol.

I had one in January this year, just waiting for the all clear. I now know that, provided the all clear is given, the peace of mind is going to be unreal. I will know I can't be trapped, and I won't tell any women I may get with. The only issue I've found is the area an be susceptible to some overall tenderness, even being a little rigourous when washing can be a bit painful, but that will ease in time. Otherwise I feel great.

+1 I got it done becuse of how hard my life is i need to pick up and be able to walk away I can't do that with a kid in tow and plus child sport laws with 250k over you life time fuck that...

I have my consultation at the end of this month, and I'm more excited about this than almost anything else in the past couple years. I can't wait to not have to wait about pregnancy after this procedure. How was the pain post op?
