Women have always created a mystery and divine aura around birth process.
It IS a natural process, which maybe uncomfortable, but not incompatible with life.
I haven’t seen animals howling and reaping the sky in pain during birth process.
Read Esther Vilar’s “The Manipulated Man”, where she describes this scam.
[–]kriskros1889 points90 points91 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
...she also adds with today’s pain killers, it’s far from mild to medium discomfort. That’s coming from a woman. So next time the thot(s) cries “childbirth pain”, you know it’s 90% exaggeration.
[–][deleted] 54 points55 points56 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Bingo... a lot of women are using painkillers (despite it being unhealthy for the baby) or going a c-section route. The vagina was MEANT to stretch open for a baby, so unless there is vaginal tearing, the "extreme pain" they feel might just be because of relatively lower pain tolerance
[–]RealBiggly61 points62 points63 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
When I had my knee replaced recently they recommended an epidural injection in my spine as the painkiller.
I figured why not, as pregnant women do this all the time?
Weird thing was, the pain doc was making a big deal of it, saying if I couldn't take it after 2 attempts they'd go for general anesthetic.
OK...?
Well the injection certainly was a bit scary and uncomfortable, if only as they made it seem such a big deal but wasn't so bad.
And there is no more powerful a painkiller than that, short of being rendered unconscious. They were able to slice open my leg, take an electric saw and cut off the top of my tibia, then make 4 slices off my femur, creating a semi-square shape for the implant, then slice off the back of my knee-cap, then glue plastic and metal bits to the raw, exposed bone-ends, then stitch stuff back together.
Don't tell me that squeezing a baby out of a baby-tube is more painful than that.
A squirrel can give birth; it's what mammals do. It's normal, and not some Great Achievement Miracle (GAM)

I was under GA throughout my knee surgery. U are brave
[–]RealBiggly5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not really, I fucking hated it and if doing it again would go for GA :D But painful? No, just mental pain of the vibration and stuff.
I also had an op a couple of years ago, a minor thing, where they didn't give me enough local. Mostly was OK but every now and then a slice would make me yelp, so hearing and feeling them sawing bone.. I was seriously tense and expecting to suddenly feel agony!
Happily didn't :)

Our bodies have evolved upward, and our pelvic bones have moved in, so it's generally a lot harder for human women to give birth than animals. After all, natural selection takes care of the animals that can't give birth right by killing them – but we have c-sections and probiotics if anything gets infected, which means the chance of survival is raised greatly. Not saying that childbirth definitely hurts as much as they say it does – there are painkillers even if it's usually not advised for pregnant women to take them – but there are enough cases of women dying during childbirth that we have to admit it's probably gotta hurt at least a bit.
[–]RealBiggly1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So it's men's fault for creating antibiotics, C-sections and modern medicine, letting the unfit ones live?
Mmm.
[–]fredthefishlord6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Pain tolerance doesn't affect the pain you feel, just how you tolerate it.
[–]LinAGKar6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The vagina was MEANT to stretch open for a baby
It was, but then our heads evolved to be bigger than before, and the vagina hasn't kept up.
[–]Haywood_Jablomie427 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I always love how women claim that "science shows women have a higher tolerance for pain", yet if you so much as tap then with 1% or less of your strength, they cry and act like you just hit them with a baseball bat.

My wife didn’t use any medical intervention. The reason they are ok with having more kids because they know the pain brings something good - a human. Also, the body sort of blocks out remembering that pain. Talk to a doctor, a gyno (I did - a male one - when my wife was having major issues with her period and it opened my eyes).
[–]NoobExterminator532 points33 points34 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
exactly this... i asked a reasonable female colleague who had a child and she said because she took some sedative she literally felt no pain whatsoever... but then I suppose pain is relative - women have never felt any physical pain in their entire lives so god knows how they could cope with child birth.
[–]Bpinchosrep11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Esther vilar writes: “Of course, difficult births do occur, but they are as a rule painless since the advent of anesthetics. In general, a woman suffers no more during childbirth than she would during a prolonged session at the dentist. What women tell men about giving birth is usually shamelessly exaggerated. The ear-splitting shrieks from the delivery rooms which pene- trate their ears are no more than a sign of the same lack of self-control and pride that we have already dealt with at length elsewhere. Painless birth has existed for years.”
[–]SirMildredPierce1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Maybe there's something different about humans that causes the pain? Maybe, because humans walk upright, the birth canal can only evolve to be so wide, and maybe because humans have a big giant frontal cortex the head can only be so small. Are any other animals facing these contradictory conditions?
[–]six-twosix1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
If you look at the female skeletons, the hips are much wider than a male, it's even shaped differently to ease childbirth. So walking upright is not the issue, but males breading with females with narrow hips.
The body also secretes Endorphins, which is a natural pain killing hormone.
There might be some exceptions, but what has become the icon of childbirth with a woman screaming at the top of her lungs is something which should be rare.
[–]SirMildredPierce2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Okay, but we aren't comparing human females to human males, we're comparing human females to other females in the animal kingdom. Those other animals aren't giving birth to babies with big giant heads. It would be great if humans could evolve even wider birthing canals, but they can't because they walk upright. These two conditions are antithetical to each other, and as such humans have evolved to birth their babies even sooner in the developmental process, that's why babies are underdeveloped lumps for months until after they are born. Humans have developed the intelligence (because of those big brains) to be able to take care of those babies in a way that most animals do not.
To put it simply. The hips can't get bigger, the heads can't get bigger, but humans need bigger heads to be smart, so much of that growth in the head happens after we are born. As such humans give birth to abnormally babies with abnormally big heads, as big as they can get before they are born, and as such humans have abnormally painful births, because most animals aren't restricted by these limitations.
Most animal mothers don't die in childbirth either, but for much of human history giving birth was very dangerous for a human mother.
But I suppose dying while giving birth was just them being dramatic, too? I wonder why all those endorphins didn't save them.
[–]six-twosix1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Of course we're not comparing, I'm merely pointing out that women have in fact evolved for childbirth. Walking upright does not change that. There are women who have easy births such as these, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RJ-Z0Ys9q8&has_verified=1, no screaming, no 2 hour birth of pure pain, just a natural normal birth. In fact, I've seem births in which the woman barely even tries.
As I said (seems you didn't read it), the issue is males still breading with females with narrow hips. What needs to happen is for females with narrow hips to be taken out of the gene pool, harsh I know, but that's just nature. In the past, they got taken out of the gene pool by dying. Today, they can have surgeries to compensate, thus making the lives of future women even harder.
I still doubt the validity of bigger heads increasing intelligence, but this does not matter. The skull of a newborn is actually quite malleable, as is the rest of the bones. In fact, many newborns have a cone-head shaped skull after birth due to being pushed through the pelvis. This is however not an issue, as it's body brings it back to normal as time passes.
Women dying of childbirth wasn't actually due to childbirth (at least for most of them), or the "insufferable pain", but because of bacteria and low hygiene from the people handling her or herself. In other words, shortly after birth, she'd most likely get an infection and due to the lack of medical care, die.
Have you actually researched this or are you talking out of your ass? Don't watch too many movies ok...
[–]SirMildredPierce0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Of course we're not comparing, I'm merely pointing out that women have in fact evolved for childbirth. Walking upright does not change that.
The fact that they have to walk upright is an evolutionary pressure which has caused a maximum limit on the size of the birth canal, any wider, you get problems with being able to walk properly.
There are women who have easy births
Yes, and there are women who have difficult births, humans are a diverse bunch. But for the most part most any other animal doesn't have an issue with difficult births.
Yes, those with narrow birth canals likely suffered from higher mortality rates. The birth canal can't be too narrow, and it can't be too wide, for different reasons. Nature finds the best medium, but the best medium still is just barely good enough. Dead mums can still pass on their genes if the babies live.
I still doubt the validity of bigger heads increasing intelligence, but this does not matter.
Humans have a head that is three times the size of their closest primate relative, I don't think it's controversial to suggest that humans are also quite a bit smarter because of it. The trade-off for these absurdly huge heads is all babies are born way earlier than they normally would be, compared to other animals, and they can just barely squeeze through.
The skull of a newborn is actually quite malleable, as is the rest of the bones.
Yup, that's what happens when your baby is born well before it is developed. Evolution is pretty amazing, it makes the best with what it's got.
Well don't forget "females with narrow hips... got taken out of the gene pool by dying."
Yeah, I've done quite a bit of research on it. The Obstetrical Dilemma is pretty well recognized, though it is of course complex, and our understanding of it has changed in the last couple of decades.
I've literally never seen it referenced in a movie, though, so I'm not sure where you got that.
[–]six-twosix1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Read the paragraph again, and focus your eyes on these words, (at least for most of them).
Jesus dude, there's no need to beat around the bush so much.
I was mainly criticizing your first point. Your point being, or what seemed to be, women not being "evolved" or adapted enough to give birth without screaming in pain as if they're being tortured by a nazi scientist.
[–]natashajadew0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
exactly!
[–]Curious_Oogway0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Or maybe you failed to see that humans are no different than other animals?
You possibly assume that humans magically appeared one day walking on 2 legs? Also, the big frontal lobe etc. etc.
What you failed to see that it was an evolutionary process. If this birth process was so painful and incompatible, then human wouldn’t have existed in the first place. The human subspecies with less painful process would have survived because of natural selection.
[–]SirMildredPierce-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well, I mean they are different in some regards, as I've already noted in my previous comments.
You possibly assume that humans magically appeared one day walking on 2 legs?
Uh, no.
Also, the big frontal lobe etc. etc.
What about it?
What you failed to see that it was an evolutionary process.
I don't think I failed to see that at all.
If this birth process was so painful and incompatible, then human wouldn’t have existed in the first place.
Human childbirth is painful and dangerous, but not prohibitively so. Humans adapted over time by giving birth to younger and younger babies, that's how evolution solved the paradox of bigger heads vs. smaller birth canals.
The human subspecies with less painful process would have survived because of natural selection.
Now you got it!

Women whining weasels. Their threshold of "pain" is extremely low. I never believed in "biirth pain" but in the panic they have about it. If somethings painful beings are avoiding it. Not repeating it. Don't believe wahmen.

Some women literally tear their assholes open giving birth. You do realise that babies are different sizes yeah? Some even come out feet first out of a hole the size of a fucking grape. Some women even die in childbirth
You can hate women all you want but I think I'd much rather be kicked in the nuts than shit out a fucking baby the size of a turkey.

Women play that card so hard... the whole "You can't talk about what it's like to be a woman because you aren't one." As if they know any better what it's like to be a man. In order to say women have it worse, you have to believe men have it better. It's a comparison, that's how it works. Both men and women have only experienced one side of the argument, so you can't claim your opinion is any more valid than mine.
The only people that might have an inkling of what it's like to be both are trans people. And guess what they say?
There was an article about female to male transsexuals who were all exited to try out their new male privilege once they transitioned, but in the end they all claim exactly what you'd expect. People stopped caring about their emotions, people stopped valuing them automatically, people expected more from them, people expected them to pay for shit, ect.
[–]Patricijaobjectdude22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You CAN talk about what it's like to be a woman because you WERE mentally a woman up to the point you hit puberty. Women have the same mentality you used to have when you were 12.
Kohlberg's law explains this well, men are capable of reaching the the 6th moral stage of development while women cannot go past 3.
This means 1. You know exactly what itys like to be a woman mentally and 2. Women are children.
And of course feminists censored this information by replacing it with "care based morality" to make women sound better.
[–]jonathino00120 points21 points22 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Point taken, but that's only how you were mentally, not how you are treated by the people around you. And people treat young boys differently than young girls. Hell, I remember reading about a study that showed that mothers are slower to respond to male BABIES compared to female ones. And this affects our development on the deepest of levels. It's one of the reasons that when faced with a problem, men are more likely to try and solve it on their own first, where women default to asking for help.
Anyway, it's not just how you think psychologically that's relevant here, it's how you are treated by society. And the fact is that men of all ages are treated as more disposable than women.
[–]Kuoxsr5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think I must have read that same article you did. One FTM said she felt like she was "all alone in the world."
Meanwhile, in a YouTube comment thread, a MTF transsexual once wrote "living life as a woman is like playing video games with the cheat codes on."
[–]Something_Chronical4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think a lot of the masculine looking lesbians also experience the way society treats men, and that contributes to their hard nose attitudes.

Yeah, I'm pretty sick of listening to women pretend that they have a monopoly on pain. Many of us men have broken bones, torn ligaments, or had any number of other serious injuries and have gotten back up, dusted ourselves off, and kept going because that's just what we do.
[–]RealBiggly29 points30 points31 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well I just posted above about my knee replacement. One thing I tried doing was joining a forum for such things (not on reddit).
I gave up with that forum, because I was healing and getting my life back "too fast".
The whole forum was full of women whining about how bad it was, how they had suffered such trauma and how it would take 12 months to heal, including the forum staff. Post after post was about how you should pamper yourself, don't try too much, refuse physical therapy that hurts, basically wallow in self-pity for a year.
In the meantime I was out and about shopping the night I got out of the hospital, was walking unaided in less than a week and basically getting my ass ACTIVE.
Why? Because being a guy I know activity is how you heal, because like most guys I've had plenty of injuries and trauma over the years.
They actually started deleting my posts, as 'argumentative' because I rejected the whole 'sit in bed with ice packs and cry like a bitch' approach.
smh

[–]trashretardcunt23 points24 points25 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
To be fair it’s a joy for parents to raise a child, to have a child, also to bust a solid nut is a huge motivator for a man and a woman, and that helps her overlook the pain I suppose. There’s not really any motivating factor in getting your balls crushed by your own torso. So that’s why a woman might want another baby but a man might not want the structural integrity of his ballsack tested.
[–]sassy_artist2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Unless it's a kink. I mean you never know what people like.
[–]midnightJizzla19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I always felt a woman's pain during childbirth was often used as a form of emotional manipulation on the children later on in life. As if kids have any say in the matter.
My wife got an epidural. She was glad for it, cause pre-labor cramps were getting the better of her. For some reason, before that she wanted to endure the pain, cause she was getting a lot of grief from her mother and her sisters who endured the pain. They made it sound like she wasn't a real mother if she didn't go through with the pain of passing a baby "naturally".
[–]MalboroUsesBadBreath1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Doing it naturally decreases the risk of vagina/labia tearing. When their body’s pain is blocked, the ability to push along with contractions is off and they can actually push too early and too hard, ripping their body open. When they get an epidural, they are also unable to move and some women like to be able to walk around during labor because it can make it progress a little easier.
Some women also choose to do it naturally because there is some science suggesting epidurals can negatively impact starting breastfeeding because the baby can come out drowsy and unable to latch. The science is kinda unclear on that though.
There are definitely some natural birth nazis out there though that think you aren’t a real mom unless you go through the pain of natural child birth. People are just hateful and want everyone to suffer like they did I think.
[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Also let's not forget that most women choose pregnancy. So they choose it then expect praise and pity for their choices, "and fuck you if you don't agree".
[–]Tyler_Golemon9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Even if giving birth was as painful as being kicked in the nuts, I think it misses the point that women will do it again because it would provide a benefit to them. If men get 100k in compensation after being kicked in the nuts then men would be lining up for nut shots.
[–]benshearts817 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women know full-well that the process of having a child is extremely painful. However, never in my life have I NOT heard a mother that had just had a child say that the pain and the wait was worth it. Some women just like kids. And not only that, but being kicked in the balls doesnt produce anything. It just fucking hurts. Do you seriously think women ask to have another child exclusively for the birthing process? You cant be serious.

There is something to be said for the our evolved hip shape causing more pain during childbirth, but painkillers certainly make the process much easier.
And don't forget the huge frontal cortex which makes our heads bigger, also a higher intelligence which allows us to take care of babies even younger in the developmental process.
There is something to be said about how humans are inherently different, but if you say it, you'll probably be downvoted!
