Technology is the only way we will not end up as a hive species. If it would be just up to nature then reproduction is the bottleneck that favors women. Ants, honeybees, termites and naked molerats are eusocial species within which reproduction has been monopolized by one queen. Even in wolves the pack is dominated by an alpha female.

This is the fate of humans as well, we are nearly eusocial. And feminization of every higher advanced society is an indication of that. In order to avoid this degeneration of individual creativity into a super organism humanity has to find a way to eliminate females from the reproductive process, and in contrast to other species, thanks to technology, we actually have a shot at this.
