The fear of missing out is nothing. If you must: go to a bar, nightclub or similar and remain sober to see how empty the interactions are. While I enjoy music, socializing and used to enjoy drinking, the fear of missing out on Hollywood fabrications, or social media highlights is nothing. Go verify the vanity while sober if need be, but there is nothing of substance in these places. No offense to anyone who drinks, but the nightlife and partying is vanity.

I don't drink, so if I'm out, I'm very aware of my surrounding (hello socialengineering) so it's very easy to walk or steer away from potential fights/conflicts.
