So there are a couple subs on reddit devoted to the "NiceGuy" phenomenon. Apparently a "NiceGuy" is a sycophant who hovers in the friendzone in the hope that a woman will eventually give him sex. It seems "NiceGuys" are primarily attacked and mocked on reddit for being closet misogynists.

I'm just wondering: if "NiceGuys" are attacked so much, why don't "NiceGuys" just stop being nice? They could either treat women with cold indifference or open hostility (or a strategic mixture of both), and would likely end up more successful in sex due to the wondrous workings of female psychology. In any advent, they'd definitely feel better about themselves--more powerful, more self-respect, etc.

To me, it seems stupid for women to attack men for being nice to them--would they rather we all treat them like dirt? (Maybe!) Regardless of what a man thinks on the inside, if he's nice to you in person, isn't that good enough?

There's also a pathetic outpouring by "recovering NiceGuys," but it's not clear to me what they've moved onto or how their behavior has changed. (It doesn't seem that they're now exhibiting indifference or hostility toward women, though.)
