Here's how it goes from a biological standpoint:

A woman is the one certain that her child is actually hers (duhh)

A guy doesn't know that for certain (unless you do dna tests which are increasingly harder to do with the fucking shitty legal system) if his kid is actually his and not some chad's who's been banging his gf before or during two of them dating.
