Before I get into the actual content of this post, I just want to say that this is such a positive sub, with so much good info and stories, and actually makes you look forward, rather than dwell on the past, hence why I’m posting.

Also, apologies in advance for the long post, I’ll put a TL;DR at the end. For anyone that wants a bit of backstory though, please read on!

Right, enough of the brown nosing. I’m from the UK, and one of my dreams since I was young, probably around 6 I think, was to live in/visit the USA. A lot of things have driven this, mostly TV and movies, also a lot of my interests during my younger years seemed to be quite USA driven.

I first travelled there in 2013 to the East Coast. I had a friend who was out there doing a football (soccer) coaching course in Maryland, so I visited him for just over a week and loved every minute of it. Once I got back home, I decided to also get involved in coaching in the states. I sorted it all out and was due to fly out at the end of May 2014 for three months with a month travel at the end. Unfortunately, things happened and I was not able to go at that time, but still went out for the month travel later that same year.

Since then, I have been back every year, including this year (I arrived back a few weeks ago actually). On the plane home I got thinking about many things, mainly about how I’m getting older and how my dreams will die with me if I don’t start acting on them. It hit me hard, but in a positive wag. So this is where I’m at now- motivated and determined.

Now that I’ve bored you all to death with a bit of history, I’ll get to the main aim of this post. I want to relocate to the USA. I am currently 27 (almost 28) and am working at my auntie’s Tile Company and have done for 6 years. It’s a good job that pays well for the area I live in, but it clearly is not a skill and certainly not a transferable skill that can get me relocated to the states.

Of course I’m doing as much research as possible into this, but the advice and info you get from places like this is absolute gold and invaluable. Also, I know a lot might think it’s not a good idea and I get that, but I don’t need reasons why I shouldn’t, just reasons why I couldn’t.

So any info/advice/experience you can share on how I could go about doing this is greatly, greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot if you read through this, keep fighting the good fight, gentlemen.

TL;DR british and want to relocate to the USA in the most cost effective and feasible method possible.
