This article is very suspect to me. It feels like the writer is trying to draw equivalences between Marxism and MGTOW and similar life choices as a way to trick your mind into socialism.

I might be a bit paranoid here, but I don’t trust anything written by academics and I certainly don’t trust this article.

Over and over again, the author talks about why men are GTOW. He doesn't phrase it like this, but he identifies the problem: Money gets stolen from producers through the state and the loot transferred to parasites. He's right in this respect, but how the hell is this capitalism? This is socialism by any definition.

Altough this article is worth reading, the author is totally confused as far as I'm concerned.

I read the entire article, clipped it and saved it. GYOW ,is like fight clubs #1 & #2 rules, one doesn't talk about fight club. GYOW means you live and die going your own way, you accept that, you go anyway. If what you believe in is yourself and your ability to make it on your own, then you stand for that and die for that, You honor the premise of the warrior, in the battle to survive, You must believe you can because you can stand for your self, honor your right, as equal as anyone's to live your way or die doing it.

I am fortune not to work in a corporate setting by having been strictly self-employed for 43 years. It isn't a corporate tangle, I don't have employees, I actually had been going my own way for more years than when I started this. It hasn't been easy finding a life purpose, it isn't the kind of service work most people would or do consider. Many that start at it, like many businesses fail or quit due to the physical and mental requirements. There are few of us, men and women, in this trade/business. It isn't likely you will be called to it or inherit it from an elder. It is more like growing up on a farm than it is fight club but it is easier if you believe in rule#2, don't talk about fight club. Don't talk about belonging to MGTOW because it isn't about the group think, it is about you being a mench (a person of integrity and honor). This is much like telling people you have a sense of humor, if you have to tell them chances are you don't.

Personally the article was interesting, I just hope the person who wrote it is disconnected from the" loss of purpose" inherent in his view of the development and over-arching occurrence and negative consequences of extreme capitalism. *...I am too old, to put up with the bullshit. The last female that told me to "get used to it"? Is not around anymore. I walked her to her car and told her, good luck with that.

I realize women are suffering from it also and they have my sympathy, but I will save my pity and have empathy for my brothers in this struggle. To the female I say show me you are different, then maybe I will judge your tree by its fruit.

They believe women get all the sex they want in their twenties (with alpha-males), and then, just before hitting the so-called “Wall” at age 30, glom onto beta-males through marriage, have kids, and then, years later, with the help of the courts, take both the kids and the man’s money.

They "believe" this - probably because it happens all the time?

The article actually states this clearly enough, but does nothing to refute it. Instead it argues that men are MGTOW basically because they're bored at work. As if those factory workers that Marx was concerned about 100 years ago weren't also bored at work, despite the fact that they still got married.

The current system is rigged against those who do not want to be dependent employees of large companies. Health insurance is tax-deductible when working for a company but not when self-employed. Employees of large companies can put more money toward a pension than people with individual IRAs can. Government often forgives student loans for people entering public service or the nonprofit sector, but not for those starting a business.

At least in this bit the article gets it right. US tax law is really dumb in how it separates the way these sorts of programs work for employees vs non-employees. There is no reason that IRAs and 401ks should be separate programs, with separate rules and contribution limits and so on.

The article also mentions employer vs employee contributions to social security as one of these issues, and IMO that isn't a true difference. The reality is that both halves of the tax work the same, even if they appear differently on your pay stub.

Corporate employees need free speech rights.

This is also true, though IMO almost impossible to enforce. It is the main reason that rule #1 of MGTOW is to not talk about MGTOW...

Social Security might be adjusted over the coming decades, such that, instead of people getting large monthly sums starting in their late 60s, they would get smaller monthly sums starting in their 20s.

Uh, UBI? Basically the definition of socialism. I think it is probably inevitable, eventually, but a bad idea in the present.

This would make raising children, often by single parents, more feasible.

ie by single mothers. So, we're talking about taxing men to pay for the children of women who would prefer to not have to work so much...

This article really makes no sense. If you want men and women to raise kids together, how about giving both partners a reason to actually want to do so, and incentives to stick together instead of incentives for one to take the other's money and split?

I literally cannot be bothered reading the article. But socialism is almost an inevitable outcome if we continually have a build up of wealth in the 1%. Capitalism has to be more appealing to the masses than socialism and isn't making the case at the moment. Anyway, if you get your own land, go offgrid then greater socialism will likely be a benefit.

Thank you OP for the article. I did not believe I'd read it in its entirety, but I did.

I think the author described the alienation of MGTOW quite accurately.

Men not wanting to partake and support women's plan is something that sounds more than right.

I however disagree with his political stances, his conclusion regarding the distribution of wealth and his vision about life purposes. It looks like he misses 1950's.

Even if I was not alienated, I would still not want children, religion and partake to women's maternal plan.

Interesting article, thanks for posting! I know the libertarians here won't like it though. I've been thinking a lot lately how an advanced market based economy gradually decays all of human experience. Everything is a transaction. Everything is a competition. It's every man for himself.

And on the flip side, (actual) authoritarian socialism decays humanity, but rapidly. I don't see any good solutions for modern man.

Well the toxicity of mgtow men who want to curb the right to vote and want women confined to the kitchens and their homes doesn't help the image of mgtow. And sometimes it's so toxic they spew venom against even children.

It's a shit show that's for sure. I like the message but I don't like such followers of mgtow who are angry that women have rights and it's not the 60s anymore.
