I started wearing early into this thing, some of the N-95 masks I had stockpiled back in 2008-2009, even when Fauci was saying NOT to. I also have fire extinguishers, and I wear eye protection when I use power tools.

I am opposed to the lockdowns.

There should be an option that just says “against the government”. If a business wants to require masks, that’s their right to do so, but fuck the government telling me what I can and cannot do.

I live in Sydney, Australia and have hardly worn masks, probably worn one for 3 days total And when I went to Melbourne masks were enforced Ideally I don’t like wearing masks. I’m also an introvert and I feel as if the masks make people more conscious of the threat and to keep greater distances. I think it serves as a physical reminder to keep a distance, regardless of if they’re helpful or not

Depends how they're implemented. I don't mind if I have to wear a mask when I go into a crowded shopping center. I would mind very much if masks were mandated to be worn outside at all times.

I think their benefits are exaggerated, and I think there is a lot of fear driving it. Otoh, I understand the fear and the desire to do what we can to mitigate risk, so I'm fine with occasionally masking up. I just don't want government orders to do it all the time. It hasn't come to that yet, fortunately.

Listen. After viewing some of these comments and some stating how this relate to MGTOW, I going to turn this into a learning lesson for those that go TRUE MGTOW.

As you can read, some of the comments are about "BiG bAd GoVeRmEnT!11! oneone" and the COVID Virus is made up. These guy are idiots that your going to run across in life and will tear you down when you reach success.

Notice that they often refer that their knowledgeable people by using the word science and educated when in fact they cite neither. They learned to start of with this so they " in hopes" they won't be challenged during the conversation, and when done will deflect and challenge your authority on the subject.
Most of them are into other conspiracies'. Anti-vax, 5g broadband , Chemtrail, flat earthers, massive artic weather machine that controls the weather, anti dairy, fake moon landing, area 51 and lastly shape shifting lizard people.
Often they will recite truth from a reputable person and use that rarity as the norm. So say there's 50,000 doctors in the US and 1 and only 1 say covid is made up. So instead of believing the other 49,999 doctors, nope! they will cry to hills that covid is made up and doctors are backing them up. Even though only one said it.

Dr. Todd hints at it. One of the reason these people believe in and preach conspiracies is these people are/were controlling individuals that lost control. They're no longer relevant. Think of the mentality of a Chad or Tyrone when they can't get a women anymore. They get angry and frustrated and these conspiracies allow them to be the "expert" and thus, be relevant again.

As this relates to MGTOW, these people don't want to help you. They want you to stoop to their level and wallow together in their misrely.

The masks they are currently selling aren't even medical grade, they are just a piece of cloth, so you make your own mind up..ontop of all of that up here in Canada, people had have fists thrown at them for not wearing it....so yeah... I'm saying its bullshit

The majority here is in favour of masks, but in the comment section the anti-maskers are by far the loudest.

I don't care if the mortality of COVID is low because the number of cases is high. Here in Italy we recorded the most excess deaths in 2020 since 1944, at the height of a world war, under military occupation and with hundreds of thousands of troops on our land.

And people are saying that there is no problem?

I also don't care if most deaths are from elderly people. Wearing a piece of cloth over your mouth costs you absolutely nothing, and it could grant someone's families a few more years before they have to bury their relatives. You are comparing your right to show your mustache around to someone else's right to be alive.

And don't talk to me about the economy. The exact reason why this world is going down the drain is that people look away from their moral compass for the sake of money. You sound like warmongers selling cans of poison gas to the best offerer.

My understanding is that the masks are not very effective, especially after 20 min of wearing one.

That being said, it’s understandable the grasping at anything that helps in the face of such a novel event such as the first global pandemic.

With that comes everyone’s individual incentives, and the usual suspects are always very suspicious and should be looked at closely, tho no surprises that any event is reacted to in the usual power grab.

So many moving parts, it’s hard to know where to look and how to make sure one is thinking about their magnitudes of effect in the right order.

I appreciate questions posed like this on the MGTOW sub, as its full of independent thinkers.

You know what I find much more annoying than wearing a mask? Applying sunscreen to hairy arms and legs. THAT fucking sucks.

But, skin cancer is real, so I do.

Yesterday a buddy's dad died from covid. I wear a mask. Way less of a thing than putting on sunscreen.

I also wear pants. And when I go into restaurants, shoes.

I wear a mask when required. I half wear one at work because part of my job is to answer the phones. I oppose lockdowns. Seen too much where it does more harm than good. The government is allowing the economy to tank and people to go homeless while hundreds of billions of dollars are sent to foreign countries. I call bullshit on the lockdowns.

I will wear a mask in stores. But that causes me to spend a lot less money. Before I would go in for one thing and while I was there I would look around and maybe buy something on impulse or something I was thinking about buying. Now I go in and get out. 'Ive never have saved so much money in my life. So it sucks but I have got into a good saving habit.

Protect yourself at all times. The emphasis on yourself because complacency kills. I find it no hardship to wear a mask ,put on a lifejacket, or wear a seatbelt. All part of looking after oneself.

I suppose I'm pro-mask/pro-SD/pro-lockdown from the standpoint that I'm not a people person and have therefore mostly never enjoyed being around lots and lots of strangers (e.g., in restaurants, at concerts, in stores, etc.).

It rly has nothing to do with safety or flattening curves or anything like that and everything to do with me being a miserable bastard.
