That's a great example of their solipsism. They have an unlimited capacity to rationalise everything so that they chips land in their favour, at least inside their own heads. It's a system of mental cheating, but then they rationalise that away too. The rationalisation always one hop ahead of the facts. I can give you a few other examples

I (a man) say "some women do X". X in this context is negative. She will immediately assume X includes here, even though I said "some" and did not quantify. I could be talking about a tiny minority.

She will say "all women do X". X in this context is negative, but she exempts herself from this even though she said "all".

Anyone says "all women do X", and she will insist she does not while demonstrating that she is doing exactly X.

My mom does so also. It’s basically a ingrained defense mechanism. Since in ancient times, a man could ( and still can ) easly attack her and overpower her, she basically sewer up the argument to reassure the other side and don’t get them mad, which lead to violence.

there are emotional immature females and males. taking responsibility for your own actions takes maturity.

i, personally, cut out any person, no matter which gender, out of my life when they show signs of being an emotional immature child in the body of an adult.
