No, I think that's more of a PUA type. MGTOW don't put that much attention on chasing women. While players may be indifferent to women on the individual level, taken as a whole, they spend a lot of their time, energy, and attention pursuing women. That's not MGTOW.

You can be a MGTOW and occasionally pump and dump, but if you're a "player" and acting out that lifestyle, you're not MGTOW. You're putting too much of your eggs into the p-sleeve basket.

You can be MGTOW and see hookers occasionally. If you're seeing them constantly (like once a week or every other week), that's not MGTOW, although I don't know any guys who do that.

You pump and dump enough and one day your going to get a knock on your door and it won't be pretty. I don't like having to look over my shoulder when I leave the house or worry about my car getting trashed.

Yes, there is overlap between mgtow and pua. The essential core of mgtow that applies to all variants are never legally, financially, or emotionally commit to a woman. Outside of that, how you relate to women is up to you. There are many ways to go your own way. The only thing that contradicts going your own way is commitment to a woman.

I'm all for flings and short-term non-exclusive relations and even long-term fuck buddies. I'm also honest with the women that I'm not looking for anything serious. She's not yours; it's just your turn. Don't say that to a woman, but always think it. She's not loyal to you and you should not be loyal to her. Women are for fun only. Never become dependent on a woman or women in general for anything including happiness and comfort. A woman augments your life at best. She's not an important part of it. So if she monkey branches, it does not matter. It was just your turn with her, and now its your turn with others.

This is the reality of a short-term sexual market. Embrace it because you cannot fight it. That said, sex is the most overrated thing. Pussy has value, but it does not have infinite value. Pussy is overpriced. Get it when it's on sale, when it takes little time and effort. Do not spend considerable time and effort chasing pussy. That time and effort is better spent building your career and enjoying life. Money spent on pussy should be minimized. The stock market has a far better rate of return.

Risk should be minimized as well. This is why you never legally, financially, or emotionally commit to a woman. Always be willing to walk away. The relationship should exist on your terms. Don't be selfish, but make sure you have well-established boundaries and the relationship does not cross those boundaries. And those boundaries must include your freedom to continue to pursue other women and no commitment to her. On the flip side, she is free to pursue other men, which is something that all women do even in "committed" relationships, and can leave you at any time.

Pua is mainly about men exploiting a short-term sexual market. Mgtow is mainly about men protecting themselves in a short-term sexual market. These two loose sets of lifestyles are not mutually exclusive. To a large extent, they compliment each other. Only monk mode and pua are mutually exclusive. You can't even think about pua if you are in monk mode to clear your head. That said, I think monk mode is only good for a year at most and only after a traumatic experience like being dumped by someone you love. However, just getting laid with a bunch of different women is probably a better way to deal with oneitis.

Just be aware that the bad parts of pua are

Letting your life revolve around women.
Time spent honing skills, practicing, and trying to pick up women.
All pua experts are charlatans. Never spend money on them. Just read The Mystery Method by Mystery. It works -- way too much effort, but it works -- and is based on sound evolutionary psychology. Everything in it echoes female behavior that is well-known to and heavily written about by evolutionary psychologists.
There is always risk of being accused of being a creep or sexually harassing a woman if she does not find you sexually attractive. So NEVER use pua where you work. Use it in places where you can easily avoid like bars, distant parks, supermarkets you don't normally shop at, etc. Don't use it in your dorm, in the gym you use, on the corporate campus where you work, in the college building where your major's classes take place. You need distance to minimize risk. Also, don't use it on women with women you have mutual friends. Although pua works most of the time, to at least some degree, it does carry additional risk.

I've had good results from pua techniques during my 30s. That's when you are still young enough that most 20-year-olds are attracted to you and horny enough to care to put in the effort while being old enough to not care about failure and old enough to give off the vibe of success. I think pua become less effective after 40 at least when used on women in their early 20s, which quite frankly are the only women worth pursuing anyway.

Well you gotta get laid somehow, I think it's more important you get a life goal and purpose to anchor you to. Explore religion and philosophy and your own psychology to know and master yourself. Your life goal and purpose is unshakeable and not up for negotiation, it's your own sole mission. You wouldn't change it for a woman and you wouldn't take it off a MGTOW page either, you've got the freedom to make up your own mind and be your own man. Which I think a lot of people have lost sight of in this day and age. Our American dream is whatever we as men want it to be. Your buddy at work or your mom or dad or your hooker or fwb have no say, only you.

Through this we can become better men together.

To me it depends on what you're giving up (opportunity cost) in order to chase women all the time.

I don't know a single serious long-term PUA with a successful career and income. While you can make money working irregular jobs, I don't see how you can sustain anything that builds long-term income if you spend time and energy and mental space chasing women all the time.

OTOH If you're already rich or financially independent, it's no different than if you take up another hobby that is fun but time consuming. You don't have the need to work for a living anymore, so it doesn't cost you anything in terms of lost income and wealth and independence.

My opinion of MGTOW is that in general you wouldn't want to, women are disgusting, i've resolved to never date again.

For a while it might seem like you still want to have a relationship but that can die away completely.

“player” is just PUA, not within MGTOW framework.

If being a “player” is needed for self progression, then you’re just doing what you need to do.
