I’ll be honest. I’m kind of with you. The thing I miss the most about an LTR was having someone to share moments with. “I did this thing at work! I bought this new thing I wanted! I met some other metric!” Much nicer to have someone to share that stuff with.

I have never wanted kids and had a vasectomy. Most of the problems I have had with women are different than most guys here because women who don’t want kids don’t act like regular women. They are a different set of problems.

I don’t miss the problems. I do miss having someone to celebrate with, someone to share laughs with, and someone to share this journey with. I’m trying to have more moments with my friends and the family I have left. It helps. Fill your time with the people you do care about, and make sure they know you care about them.

Living a long life is pointless though.. at some point I plan to retire and I know that if I run out of money around age 60 the government will probably take care of me, and if they don't I will die... I'm not particularly sad about the notion.

Honestly in 5 years I'd like to be living in a van, with only what I can fit in the van as possessions. However, in the meantime, things like skydiving are on my list, because why not? I have the money, I don't fear death...

I haven't found a way to escape this feeling, but I have it too. Sometimes I'm bored out of my mind. I have a few hobbies but sometimes I'd rather have a family, a wife and children rather than spend my time alone.

I think I made some mistakes when I was younger and I'm paying for them now.

Countless BP's would give their left nut to have more time on their hands.

Now you can immerse yourself in studying something you always found interesting, pick up an instrument and learn playing it, develop some useful or just fun skills, consult with the 10 year old self and ask that little dude what he would do as an adult superman with all your current strength, intelligence and power as adult...

You wonder in thoughts because I can tell you haven't yet become active again.
Stop jerking around, pick up some weights, develop your cooking skills, do some sports...

People DREAM about your situation. Recognize it, understand how damn blessed you actually are and go NUTS my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's actually a good thing. In life you can always make more money, what you can't make is more time. If you spend your whole life working like a dog to retire at 62 a millionaire, then you die at 63. Was it worth it?

If you're bored it just means you're not learning enough or meeting enough people. Expand your boundaries to expand your resources.

Once you're "too comfortable" that's when it becomes dangerous. Toughest rut plateau to climb away from.

When you're married with kids every second of your day is planned out and out of your control. You have to get permission to do anything. Even those idiots who claim they do whatever they want, still have to seek it internally and societally unless you completely bail on them.

You can't just get wasted and pick up the kids, you can't just engage in dangerous hobbies, you can't spend a ton of money doing something you individually want to do, or the whole thing collapses.

You find more and more of your time, if you're attempting to parent, being devoted, and required, to do the same stupid shit over and over.

Just because you're in a prison, doesn't mean you are more free.

I try to fill my life with adventures and travel, but that's just me. I engage in "dangerous" shit because why not? Skydiving isn't something to fear as I don't have some child or wife fetish. I sleep with my front door open and tend to leave the hovel and go do shit with it open as well, because who cares.

Go have adventures. It doesn't have to be that expensive or rational. I got back recently from going to NYC for a hot dog. In a couple weeks I'm off to New Orleans to go to a English pub with a Doctor Who Tardis front door. Why? Why not? It'll cost $300 for a week staying there unless I get hammered and wander the streets.

Live an adventurous life. It doesn't have to be important, or expensive. Go have fun. With friends or alone. Find the cheapest way to travel around the world. Update your passport and bet $100 on the field at a Craps table in Point Edward, Canada.
