I’m ready to leave women behind but am I actually MGTOW, or just an incel in denial.

If you are going the way that YOU want to go (which it sounds like to me), then you are MGTOW. If you are going a way that you are being FORCED to go, then you aren't going your own way and you are not MGTOW.

I have seen a lot of MGTOW content that talks about high status men being the most effective MGTOW as they’re who the women want most.

That has nothing to do with MGTOW.

But i wouldn't say MGTOW purpose is to abandon women completely. You can have fun with them, just do it in a way so they won't drain your recources, don't put yourself at risk of loosing your stuff/ honour/ dignity.

You do you. Go your own way, whatever it is.

You have to accept that there is a strong (evolution driven) desire for procreation, love and bonding in men. While you might understand red-pill concepts it does not necessarily mean you are currently ready to fully abandon these strong compulsions - which isn't a dig on anyone not currently there but a reality check on how difficult it can be.

I'm 22, I got into red-pill at 18 and it took me a while to really let go even when I thought I actually had. 4 years to really get there. Celibacy. Abstinence. I do not want to feed this broken system anymore.

As I see it, MGTOW means you've decided to stop pursuing serious romantic-sexual relationships with women. Since you say that you have "officially decided that dating and women in general are a waste of time," that sounds like you'd fit MGTOW.

The part about "women in general" being "a waste of time" suggests you might be bitter or resentful over your bad experiences, and you're extrapolating that to "women in general," whether in romantic-sexual relations or not (e.g., female family members, coworkers, neighbors, whatever). MGTOW doesn't mean you need to think in those terms -- that women in general are a waste of time -- just the serious romantic-sexual relationship part. Some MGTOW do discard women from their life entirely, but they are a minority.

As for whether you're "an incel in denial," you say that you've had a "a few failed relationships." If any of those relationships included sex, that would mean you're not incel.

That might not be MGTOW content. That might be red pill content. Red pill is the bigger category, related to knowledge about gender relations, female nature, and so forth. MGTOW is a subset under that umbrella. MGTOW content would be unlikely to frame high status men as "effective MGTOW" because women desire them. That would probably make it harder to go MGTOW, not easier.

There is no such thing as an incel in today's society. Any guy with some money can get a lay. I'd even recommend that if you just want to experience sex particularly when you are young.

Monk mode has value, but I don't think you should stay in it for more than six months if you are young. You can be mgtow without giving up sex as long as its pursuit isn't dominating your life.

A word of advice. It is very difficult for young men who aren't at least 7's to get laid. However, when you hit 30 and have adopted a short-term only sexual strategy, it gets way easier. It is shocking how much easier it is for a 30-year-old guy to pick up a 20-year-old woman than it is for that same guy to pick up a 20-year-old when he was 20. Women simply expect you have your shit together at 30 and a good job, especially if you dress business casual, even if they thought you have nothing to offer when you are 20.

I wouldn't give up pursing sex or dating at that young of an age, but don't let it be the focus of your life. Have the attitude of I am the prize and I can take it or leave it. Don't legally, financially, or emotionally commit to a woman. Don't be exclusive. Don't spend a lot of time, effort, and money on women. But 20 is a bit young to swear off short term, non-exclusive dating. Sex with a super model at 30 isn't as good as sex with plain Jane at 15 or 20. Enjoy your youth as much as possible. You are only young once and it's damn short.

In general, make the most out of every stage of life.
