Question about responsibility

I feel like there are two questions here, unless I read too quickly:

Are women and young girls the same when wearing a bikini? No, they are very different, although a girl late in her teens may be old enough to know how to sexualize herself (getting attention) but just doesn't understand how negatively that reflects on her and how it can be dangerous.
Is sexualizing a woman in a bikini bad? I don't intentionally do it and I have respect for anyone that shows me respect. However, I do have an instinct to be attracted to women I find attractive, and I cannot help that, just like you can't help being attracted to men. Still, I won't catcall her, show disrespect, or treat her any differently than I would a man out of respect for another human being and respect for myself.

Children do not measure the scope of their actions. A little girl posting a pic of her is already a problem in itself : Her parents should NOT allow her to have such an access to Internet until she's 11 or 12. Second, it's the parent's responsability until she's old enough to figure out what she's doing, so maybe 16 or 17. Angie Varona's case comes to mind, but there way more of similar cases.

Now, a woman (so beyond 18) who posts a pic of herself is a call for attention. A bikini / cosplay pic is a call for A LOT of attention. And this is her own and full responsability. But with attention comes creeps, and recently a woman explained what happened when she put a nude on Reddit for the first time - it was suprising how really twisted creeps can be lurking around. They aren't asking for lewd comments, but they know it's coming anyway. Only they don't always know the full force of it, hence the woman's note you mentioned.

If a child is posting a pic of themselves in a bathing suit and some guy comments like that, it is not the same. That guy is acting creepy. That child is not trying to sexualize themselves if they are just taking a pic. Now if that person is sexualizing themselves, that is different. If you are whoring yourself on social media for likes or attention, then you should expect those comments. As an adult, I'm sure you know the difference. Good job with your STRAWMAN argument though. Grow up snowflake.

Human interactions will always be messy, fraught with hidden intentions, biases, misunderstandings and so on. Both anecdotes and studies have shown as much.

Even if we disregard legality, there are also some huge differences when it comes to social norms and behavior, between how you treat children and adults. Children are generally not regarded as responsible, regardless of situation. Not that this is much different for modern women in our gynocentric world, but in theory, there is. Especially from the perspective of us who try to rid ourselves of any gynocentric influence.

Yes, in essence we are all "responsible" for our own behavior, but that should also include risk-assessment~ The woman posting is also responsible, given that she would clearly know that such could be viewed sexually, especially given the feminist narrative that women are constantly sexualized and harassed because of it.

Do the men also bear some responsibility? Sure-- But to view it all in a vacuum and just point the finger in one direction seems equally flawed, regardless of which way you point that finger.

Good question. The way I see it is that there's how things should be and there's how things are.

If you know that posting a bikini pic will incite explicit responses but post it anyways, that's on you. Yeah men wouldn't post the sexual comments but they do. That is the reality and no amount of wishful thinking can change that.

If you know fire burns but you stick your hand in anyways, it's your fault. Yeah we all wish fire wouldn't burn you but it does. That is also the reality.

If I could somehow change men to stop giving women this unwanted attention I would. But fire will always burn you and men will always be trying to get their rocks off. These are facts of life regardless of whether they fit into your narrative. Sometimes facts of life are not going to be politically correct.

You can limit it, of course, and in cases where this goes too far(sexual harassment etc) it should absolutely not be tolerated. But at the end of the day these are only social media comments and if they bother you that much you can stop posting the images or turn your damn phone off

"But women should be able to put their hand in fire and not get burned" - well they should but they don't and that's just the way it is. Of course men are responsible, but in a way the women are too for posting a picture knowing full well what would happen.

Sometimes what should happen and what does happen are very different. You're more than welcome to pull out of a junction without looking because a car shouldn't be there, but don't blame me if you end up in a crash.

I try to have a very stoic outlook on life and this means that I'd approach this problem a little more practically. I can sit and get all upset that men post bad comments but I can't change it so why waste my time getting frustrated. Instead I'd focus on what I can control, which is what I post and my reaction to other people's comments. If it bothers me that much I can just not post the picture.

On a separate topic it's like 1. 30am so I've probably not explained things the best. I'll have a look in the morning and edit if needed. I'm really glad that you're open to discussion with people you disagree with like this though. It's a sign of real maturity and intelligence. Kudos to you op and I'd love to hear your response.

I think your basis is you think MGTOWs hate women.

One doesn't need to hate something to leave it to its own, while setting on their own path for personal progress.

I understand where you're coming from, as just like in feminism, there's a wave of MGTOWs which want to be labeled as such just for group hugs and to wallow in an orgy of resentment towards a common enemy.
