I have PTSD and spent the last year rebuilding my life emotionally and structurally. I got a job that seemed like a good opportunity but it never panned out as far as things I was promised when I was hired— so yesterday, after my manager started giving me an attitude for taking my break (were discouraged from taking our breaks— even though they’re taken from our paychecks) I decided to quit. I gave notice and interviewed at a few incredible places. I’m also writing a novel.

I guess the point of this post is not to forget what your worth is— that it’s not dependent on other people’s valuations of you. Loyalty is something that should be reserved for the people who take care of you or meet you at eye level.

I didn’t go my own way because of a woman, I went my own way because of the way I see myself in the eyes of the world, especially women. Women aren’t “the enemy,” they’re not the problem, the problem is that somewhere along this little experiment of life, we lost sight of what we wanted and who we wanted to be— probably because of a woman/women.

That’s the thing I’ve come to learn being a part of this group, is that it’s more than pointing fingers. It’s about growth.

You’re the master of your reality.
