HAte to say this. But the internal subconscious issues and lack of development you currently have, hasn't uprooted yet. By the time you are in your mid 30's, you will realize the damage your mother has done by mating with an irresponsible male, given the lack of growth you have.

I'm here to say, you are damaged. And I Don't mean that in a bad way. A lot of us are. But the "Well my mom ain't so bad." bullshit works in your 20's. Give it time. Everything will surface.

For a good chunk of my childhood, my mother had boyfriends and was married to my dad for four years. Her last ex was a dick to both her and me. She even admitted to me that she liked assholes. That is probably one of the reasons I adopted some of the MGTOW philosophy. Women are attracted to pricks and that doesn't interest me.

A while ago, I had a single mom holler at me on Facebook. She needed help raising her son and her ex was a douchebag. I blocked her.

I grew up in a two-parent home, with a dominant mom. After my divorce I dated three single moms.

Mom #1 needed a man to help pay her bills and teach her son how to be a man, her words, because his real father was a loser alcoholic guy living in a trashy mobile home park, and had no ambition. After looking at it closer, he was a bad boy, getting old. And my dumb mom thought he could be improved, and was feeling like she needed to have a baby as she was getting up in her 20's. It was all a train wreck. She always needed money. She was always trying to get me to like her son, which sadly I didn't really get into. He was nerdy and fat, and liked everything I didn't. He reminded me of a young Jeffery Daumer.

Now I will say she was hypersexual, and that was very nice. She was a morning and night girl who would satisfy. And that was her trap.

Mom #2 seemed very nice. She was a teacher and had three junior high-aged school kids. They missed their father, that I found out later lived down the street. That creeped me out. He was always driving by. This mom also like to include her kids on outings, and they loved to order from the menu the most expensive things and mom didn't have a problem with that. Just going out to lunch could cost me $150. That lasted about three more weeks and I was out.

Mom #3 was freshly divorced. She was nice starting out, but her teenage son was mad at her for leaving their dad. When I hit the scene, the son flipped out and made her life horrible. By making her life stressful, she couldn't focus on me, and I could tell she was hiding her anger over her Ex, and she started treating me like him, nagging and griping. That last about a week...

Since then I avoid single moms like the plague. There are some really good single moms who don't date, have family to stand in for the man part, but single mom homes are a minefield of problems, all for her new man to finance.

There are so many women out there that do not have kids someone else's kids if you are sensitive to your needs and do not want to compete with a 3-ft 40 lb human that will always always take first place don't date single women. You will have zero say in discipline department you will have minimal say in the religious department you will not have the opportunity to enjoy unless you're unable to have kids you will always have this thought the back of your mind this beautiful child is not mine and if you're lucky the child will take to you but I've heard horror stories where the child grows up and is telling you to go f*** yourself and you're not my father and more likely than not that is what you'll deal with and still have zero say and how to discipline that child more headache than it's worth the juice is not worth the squeeze my friend but you do what you want. If you're up for a challenge God bless you if you can make it work you're a better man than most but instead of heading down that dead end alley at full speed most men choose to avoid the train wreck.

I think there are a lot of good single moms out there who try their best. Well, maybe not "a lot," but there are some. I'm glad you had such a mother yourself. You're more fortunate than a lot of guys.

I can't really speak to the issue of being raised by a single mother. I can say a little about dating and marrying one. That didn't work out well at all for me. She was very kind, respectful, and affectionate before the marriage, but once we were married, she changed. The ol' "bait and switch," they call it. She got less affectionate, less interested in me, and less respectful. She also cut back her work hours, as if now that she was married, it was time for her to kick back and relax. After a while, I started to feel like I was basically there to provide economic security and emotional support, in exchange for ... not much.

Her daughter was also a hellion. She had ADHD and bipolar disorder, antisocial and narcissistic traits. Prior to the marriage, it seemed like we could work together to manage her. But after we got married, it became clear that was a pipe dream. My wife spent half her nights sleeping with her daughter, because otherwise the daughter would throw a screaming, raging fit, and my wife was unable/unwilling to stand up to her. We went to therapy, but it didn't work.

I left that marriage after three and a half years. I told her I was miserable. I felt like my soul was dying. I felt like I was living someone else's life, not my own. I had to get out.

That was my experience with a single mother. She was a nice person. I remained friendly with her for years afterwards. I bear her no ill will. But I think her single motherhood brought way too much baggage into the relationship, and I would advise any man who's looking for a partner to be very, very careful about getting together with single mothers.

Single moms should stick to dating single dads. Being a childless man and dating a single mom is a completely lopsided dynamic.

This is just my opinion, but a woman with a child can not respect a man who is not the father. She will just see him as another child, or as a utility. Not intentionally, but that’s what it will devolve into.

I do have respect for some single moms, it is hard. It’s not something I would want to deal with.
