Couple things: I'm not American and therefore am not familiar with the laws for US. My understanding of the situation with anti-male marriage laws is that the woman has MUCH higher priority for custody and she gets half of all your shit in the event of a divorce.

I also want to disregard things like "Don't cohabitate" for this particular discussion. There's more than a strong case to be made for that but it's beyond the scope of what I'm asking.

What I'm trying to understand is why do I not see pre-nups mentioned more often? If you had signed documents from the girl before marriage saying she's relinquishing her rights to your shit, alimony and sole custody in the event of a divorce for any reason, wouldn't that solve atleast the anti-male marriage laws debate? (That's of course assuming she's willing to sign such documents, which again is a separate issue). Do I simply have a tainted idea of how the law and pre-nups work because of TV?
