Where does your motivation come from?

Fear.

I never want to be broke again, so I work my ass off and save like a squirrel before nuclear winter.

Fear.

I had a friend from highschool commit suicide and so I try to always be there for my friends. I'm terrified a friend or family member will off themselves.

Fear that I'll be stuck working a low paying job being disrespected by morons. Once I realized that job could be the rest of my life I was overcome with dread. So I did whatever it took to pass my classes.

Fear is one hell of a motivator, it's probably not the healthiest but it's pretty damn effective.

Some people need a dream or a higher calling to get their ass in gear, not me I have plenty to be afraid of because I know what happens if I don't act.

My motivation comes from the innate desire for freedom. Therefore, the two very basic things that I desire from this life are health and financial independence. So it's good food an plenty of exercise plus not wasting money I do not have (i.e. borrowing) on things I do not need to impress people I do not like. That's the gist of it...

My ex wife is a near infinite source of motivation for me. I simply think back to living with her and my level of motivation to avoid that is instantly replenished.

Just desire not to starve. I don't need to work like a dog to sustain a wife.

I'm a trader, I don't need a job, I'm currently earning 15 minimal wages in my contry; I only want to join the (federal) police so I can legally carry a gun. And that's it.

Motivation? That great feeling you have when crossing the finish line.

For instance, I love writing stories. When I finish my story, even the shortest one, there is this feeling of "Yes! I did it!" that comes with knowing all my work paid off. I can look back on something completed vs. looking at all those good stories I started but never finished. I look at my unfinished stories with the "what a waste!" thought and feel regret.

Same thing with cycling. When I really push myself. It feels great to reach that goal. Then when I go home, I'm tired but feeling accomplished.

Crossing the finish line is what motivates me.

I just set realistic, but challenging, goals for myself. Once achieved, I move on to the next one.

Consider retirement. Now go talk to retirees and realize life doesn't change when you retire. The only thing that changes is your income stream. You go from working for your money to having your money work for you.

I dont know, i just kinda do stuff when i get the energy wave to do it. Also just the fact that setting your own destiny makes you a sort of your own god and i feel like thats a little cool

What the future can hold. Also, what the future won't hold - women and their pointless issues. I see men around me suffering in their marriages. I know that my life will be different in that regard - lots of time and mental peace. My future has hope now. The intention to keep it that way keeps me motivated.

Uncertainty. Excitement to see what happens next in my life. It's the greatest story I want to see unfold.

Does it mean I believe in desity and supernatural, I don't know, I do my part on living as comfortably as possible making sure I also keep developing myself as a human being and a professional, as a son, as a brother and watch where it takes me.

I'm just excited.

Yes at times it sucks, but hey... What doesn't? Can't let shit get to your head. Keep shoveling forward, maybe you find gold, maybe you find your grave anyway you gave it your all.
