It's conditioning due to different attractiveness between men and women at different ages.

A young woman learn early on that she's the prize, because any man would want and chase the 18/23 years old student.

A young man is literally invisible unless he's already ultra gifted. I personally had success in attracting women in my 20s but it's only when you get closer or past 30 that your overall attractiveness and dating confidence reaches good levels.

Men generally get stuck with the idea that they are still that young and undesired boy, women on the opposite think they're hot well into their 30s where it's no longer the case.

Can't say for sure, I imagine gay men's standards and straight men's standards are different, I can't also speak to the quality of the people of either gender you talk to on these apps, all I can say is that women are naturally programmed to aim higher. To settle for a man is to get pregnant and left behind without a protector, and pre-civilization that was a death sentence for you and the baby. Men on the other hand are programmed to stick their prick in whatever is willing so they can ensure their seed gets as far as it can.

At least for me i slept down. Meaning that lest say i was a 8 then i slept with 4 or 5 since getting sex is stupidly easy and some even pay themselves for the date. Sometimes i found a girl that was more than just sex and started going out. The main problem is when it goes to their heads and they believe they are at your level. Leave you for another dude, then can't find any other 8 to care for them. I means its their problem.

Women used to feel the need to be more attractive but as they have become more empowered (and less reliant on protection and provision from individual men), there's not as much need, if any, to attract a mate. Their sex drive is also a lot lower than a man's.
