It was recently asked on here how to employ emotional Game in a marriage (or LTR in general), so I figured I'd post my recent implementation.
This morning when I woke up, my wife asked me if there was anything I needed at the store since she was planning on going today. I told her I needed a new toothbrush (amongst other things).
When I came home from work, she was in a "weird mood" and has been kind of distant all evening. I tried some basic game techniques to pump her mood (amused mastery, teasing, etc) which she responded to with some lighthearted chuckles and playfulness, she still was in a relatively "bummed/cold" mood.
So just a half an hour ago, I went to check what kind of toothbrush she got me. No matter what it was, I was going to find something wrong with it on principle. If it was exactly like my last one, I was going to complain that I didn't like my last one. If it wasn't the same, I was going to point out the differences. Well, it was close. Same brand, different "model".
So, I grabbed my old toothbrush out of the trash along with the new one, and walked in to the addition where she was watching TV and, while inspecting both of them in my hand, and in a stern but 'trying to play it off as curiosity' (i.e., intentionally misframed) tone, asked "did you get me a kids toothbrush?"
She immediately looked up with that 'omg I'm sorry' look and said, "I don't think so! It didn't say 'kids' on it. Why, what's wrong with it?" I then sat next to her with a contemplative look and mulled over the difference between them, out loud with her, looking slightly 'disappointed but understanding'. She said, starting to get noticeably irritated, "well, I didn't know, I thought it was fine..."
I muttered to myself, not in a butthurt way, but a 'how do I get through to this woman' kind of way, and got up to walk back to my home-office. I put my shoes on, grabbed my wallet and keys, and walked out the door. I drove to the grocery store to find the 'perfect' toothbrush. The whole drive I'm chuckling to myself out of genuine amusement, almost cackling about my craftiness.
When I get home, I walk in, calm as can be, with a slight grin of delight on my face for having a good toothbrush to look forward to, and walk over to her with the other specimens in hand, almost excited to explain the differences to her. Her frustration is palpable, but she's trying to contain it and be patient with my demonstration. After a few seconds of showing them off, she says, "well, maybe next time you should get your own toothbrush!" Shit test alert! I just casually chuckle, pat her knee and get up and walk away, still examining the toothbrushes to make it clear that I'm less concerned about her irritation than I am with my satisfaction in proper Oral-B selection.
Aaaannnnd, as I finish this last paragraph, she walks by the open door to my office with a suggestive grin on her face, beckoning me to the bedroom. Good night MRP! :)
Edit: ITT purple knights and trolls from TBP. If you don't think eliciting strong emotions from women is RP or even effective, watch this guy get all kinds of feels from the interviewer while holding frame and swatting down shit tests left and right (recently posted on TRP): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya-CrS3eKMM
