I just had a unique case come to me from the In person red pill group that I helped start a few years ago. I’ve largely stepped out of running the groups to focus on my company I started. But I figured I would come here to ask for some advice. One of the guys that is running the group now has reached out and asked me about a new guy with a unique set of issues.

New Guy is:

Bipolar, traumatic brain injury, memory issues, chronic depression, complete inability to trust his own decisions (says that’s from the TBI), and has severe spinal arthritis.

Wife:

Very likely borderline. Definitely outright verbally abusive towards him and mocks him in front of the kids. He feels like she’s his jailer.

He’s come to the group meetings dozens of times times. He’s a good hearted man who wants to change. His diminished emotional stability and impaired cognitive ability has actually made him unplug faster then some other guys. He realized how much his cognitive dissonance has used up his limited resources. But he struggles with assertion and gaming her that well. He’s been coached on shutting the fuck up and never making excuses. We are not sure at the moment on using any mid to high dread for purposes of keeping him safe if she’s really BPD. She has no idea what he’s doing in these meetings. But it’s helping because after 3 years no physical contact, she’s started having sex with him again and even blowing him.

BUT. He always has set backs due his mental and physical health. We are going to coach him on getting into an inflammatory diet, and he’s currently so physically diminished that 5x5 is too much. So he’s in the process of buying a recumbent bike and he’s going to start doing cardio endurance training with a high protein Keto diet to get his lean body mass into better percentages and we hope to revisit the iron way sometime in 2019. He’s worked hard on mindset and the guy has as much spirit about embracing the process as me. I’m believe he gets better with the lifestyle changes. But I’m not mentally ill, and this was a difficult process for me. So I can’t imagine what it’s been like for him so far.

If any of you have anything to add, please do so. Otherwise I’ll be back in a couple months with an update.
