In the last two months we have had an influx of new members posting their situations and questions. Most of these men are angry. Angry with their spouses, themselves, their lives, their choices.

Anger is one stage of your journey. I refer to the "Five Stages of Grief" and recommend you read this earlier post by /u/SorcererKing. Denial, Negotiation, Anger, Depression, Acceptance.

Anger is essential. You can't skip this stage. You should experience it and welcome it. Do not suppress anger. Do not feel ashamed of anger. It is a natural, masculine emotion. Use your anger as a tool that will help you through the process of unplugging.

Anger is energy. Literally, anger is a feeling caused by the release of the hormone epinephrine, also referred to as adrenaline. We have greater strength and energy when this is rushing through our bodies.

Anger is manageable. You are capable of controlling your rage. Under control, men are highly capable of clear, purposeful thought and action while angry. You can direct it to meaningful and useful outlets. In the superhero movie "The Avengers", Bruce Banner explains how he is finally able to control The Hulk when he says, "That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry."

Anger is okay. If you read about anger and anger management you will consistently find methodology to release anger as quickly as possible. It is referred to as a hormonal "imbalance" (it is, but that is negative terminology). Modern statements that frame anger as a negative emotion are fallacies of the feminine social imperative. It's like saying "bees are dangerous". Sure, bees can be dangerous. But they usually are not and they are essential to life.

Don't be too quick to "move past anger". It is too valuable a resource.

Use anger to stand up for yourself professionally and personally. Use it in the gym. "Lift angry". Have angry sex.

Don't use anger to intimidate your friends and family. Don't talk about your feelings of anger with your wife. Don't make major life decisions.

TL;DR: Don't beat your wife and children.
