My partner came home from work. I go to try and speak to her, we have some brief small talk but that's it. I've been trying to make an effort to connect with her more, but thats for another day. Anyways after it was obvious she seemed to busy to bullshit back in forth I went back to the computer room, next thing I hear about 10 mintues later is her saying loudly "ummmm can we please cover the leftover food" her tone came off as if she was scolding me as if i'm a child.
I had just made picadillo today and i put the leftovers in a bowl and forgot to cover it, which I'm 50/50 on putting a piece of saran wrap over my leftovers, cause usually I'll eat it within the same day.
Anyways she then comes to the computer room and says "the smell makes me sick to my stomach" i was thinking okay, since when? when has leftovers, food, cooking ever made you feel that way. I think in reality she just wanted to nag or she was angry about something else and used the food thing to direct that anger at me.
because I went out and smelled the picadillo, and it smelled great actually. Anyways its little nagging like that combined with this condescending like tone that i'm getting sick of.
I mean, if she really wanted to play that game I could nag her about never cleaning the floors, never cleaning the kitchen besides loading the dishwasher, leaving dishes in the sink for days (assuming I don't clean up after her) leaving the car a mess, never cleaning anything. I'm the one that cleans, and that's fine.. I'm just saying if me leaving my amazing picadillo uncovered is an issue that warrants the nagging, then I sure have a list that I can come with as well--i wont though.
Any other men deal with this?
