Career and education matter more at least in my opinion. Recovering from a financial or educational setback hurts much more than a heartbreak

Whatever she said to you is now in the past along with her

My last big breakup was in 2022 and since then I've had some hit and runs here and there but nothing really meaningful or deep. I too think I'm much not happy alone sometimes

What matters is you're safe and weren't hurt. You did the right thing by acting fast and pushing him away.

I honestly think you're better off without her. Sometimes things are perfect with someone but give it enough time and all the bs starts to appear on the surface
/r/MenSupportMen17/07/24 11:20 PM

Just grateful to be here.

Thank you so much man. I'm just trying to be better. But your words mean a lot to me. Please take care:)

No problem bro. I'm neither a husband nor a father. I just acknowledged your efforts for your family. Please take care and get out of there soon, also keep us updated. I'll pray for you and your family!

You ARE being a man by taking this step. Sometimes protecting your family doesn't have to mean jumping in the dungeon and slaying the dragon but taking your family out of harm's way. I know you feel terrible that you can't teach those people a lesson but sometimes you gotta make a choice between being a man and being a father. Your family will understand this in the future. I know i did remembering the sacrifices my family had to make. You're the man and you always will be!❤️

I think anyone would feel the same way as your partner does but tbh the best decision is to move away from there when you think long term safety. After all it's for your family's safety and that matters more than a house. I think you can move into a better neighborhood but you can't get rid of these addicts. They will be persistence and you will always have a fear for your family.

Try taking it to the higher authorities. Do not try to reason with your neighbours they are unstable and might hurt you. Don't worry.

Congratulations on your success brother! Anything worth doing is worth doing badly. Your past is the past what matters now is you're working a new job, going to the gym and plan to attend college. That's pretty damn awesome in my book! And as for others. Your path is not the same as theirs. You've had your struggles and they had theirs. What matters is you follow your path. Don't be so hard on yourself because you'll regret not being kind to yourself later.
/r/MenSupportMen01/05/24 05:06 PM

Hope all my bros are doing well. Please do not hesitate to ask for support. You are needed, appreciated and loved. Take care 🙏

Is that why you posted this in two more subs with your discount code? There are guys here who genuinely need support so be respectful and don't do this nonsense here. If you need financial support just say it

Hope everyone's doing okay and if you feel you're not, don't forget you're not alone. You are loved and needed in this world

That's very sweet of you. I think a lot of men treasure the compliments we receive. I think it's very difficult for people on the spectrum to express themselves so you being able to help her do that without you even trying just says you're not only a great human but also a cool guy to work with!

Hey man. I think deep inside you already know what to do. It might take a while but act on it. One day at a time. We've all been in a miserable spot. What matters is whether you take the action in the right direction

Good decision brother. We sons feel an eternal desire for our father's approval even after they pass away. I'm sorry you had to go through this. I hope this new phase brings you the peace you deserve

Join a salsa class. I've been wanting to do that myself for years. It's a great way to meet new people while learning something
/r/MenSupportMen14/10/23 06:40 PM

Took a week off the gym because i was sick. Went back today. After that, i went to my old place to check on the stray cat who used to live with us. Instead found another car who was badly injured. We're taking him to the hospital tomorrow. It might be expensive so I've asked friends for help and put in the money meant for gym. I don't really mind not being able to work out if it means the cat will have proper care.
/r/MenSupportMen24/07/23 08:43 PM

It's always best to see a councellor. A lot of times women withold sex and even antagonize being physically intimate in a relationship so much that men feel guilty for trying to initiate some intimacy. It's not something wrong with you. You are enough.

I never really buy into any pills. I think as men we instinctively know what's right and wrong, what we need to sacrifice and what choices we need to make for ourselves and our families. The problem arises when our judgement is so clouded that we buy into such pill nonsense.

You did what you had to do. You knew that relationship wasn't good for your well-being. Making that step takes courage. Time heals most wounds. Give time some time. A little time alone to self reflect after a break up actually helps. Talk here if you feel like it. Reach out to me brother if you feel like it. You're not alone.

Your could be my friend good sir if you wouldn't mind. As for your answr, I don't know if I qualify to answer but I've made a few good male friends at the gym. It usually happens when I have the same time slot as them. A simple hi is all it ever took. If you would like you could join another activity of your liking. It could be at a shooting range, a playground, at the bar while you watch a game. As for maintaining friendships I think it depends how your schedule matches with theirs. It's not ne…

Hey bud. I hope you're doing okay. I suggest you bring this to the attention of your therapist. Maybe they can help you out better.
/r/MenSupportMen17/01/23 09:17 PM

I watch a few self improvement videos but what I'm observing is a trend of these influencers claiming that working out alone fixes mental health issues. As someone who is in the medical field and passionate about powerlifting, I think it's better to either go to therapy/psychiatrists. But good for you buddy. Keep it up

I've lived with the same situation and I know how you feel. Sleep is very crucial especially when you're a student. If he isn't listening to you and if your other roomie isn't standing up to him, it's better to switch rooms or move out because you're gonna have to deal with this every night, and that will take a toll on you. Confronting him could be of no use as well. Perhaps complaining to the warden could help?

You seem like a sad sad soul. I was annoyed at first but after seeing your profile and posts I pity you. I really hope you figure your life out because by the way you draw out conclusions and make assumptions, honestly it seems like it's in shambles. I'll no longer reply because this post isn't about you or me. It's about somebody else and I respect him enough to not start an unnecessary argument here. Also, I love and respect this sub because it's helped me heal from a lot of hurt and I hope it…

"Don't focus on the relationship you don't have" Honestly this is so important for people to learn
/r/MenSupportMen01/12/22 09:41 PM
23

Focus on yourself and you will attract attention brother. Physically and mentally. Take the time to train yourself. But first come to terms with yourself, accept and then love yourself. When you become who who desire to be, women will desire you as well. At least this is what I have learnt in recent years, and it has helped me a lot. Don't see yourself as an option for women. See yourself as The Man. That's what you are. Keep your head up King

I go the gym and try to pursue powerlifting. So that gives me a goal to achieve. Through that I've made a good number of friends in the gym. Then there are some games that i sometimes play. I try to focus on the story more so it's immersive. But i really suggest pursuing two things, One outdoor hobby and one indoor. That way you exercise your mind and your body. It could be running and gaming, gymming and learning an instrument, etc.

She's interested in you so clearly there's nothing wrong with you! Secondly be confident and relaxed. You both are intimate already so you just need to take it slow. Don't rush in and ask her if you can kiss her. This works for me all the time

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad 2 years ago. It hurt even more because i couldn't be there during his last days and even his funeral because I was abroad during the height of covid. What i can tell you is that; Go through this time of pain and mourning. If you have any supportive friends you could stay over with them or at least open up to them. Try to remember the good times, pictures when you feel upset. If you feel like crying, don't hold back. Just let all the emotions out. The mos…

I feel you brother. I also had my heart broken after a loving relationship of almost 5 years. I feel much better today even though I miss her sometimes. Truth be told; Every relationship has an expiry date. Someone either leaves or dies. That helped me because it made me realize that my happiness belongs to something beyond the approval of another person.

We suffer more in our imaginations than in reality. People are too self indulgent to care about how a stranger looks. We don't even remember the faces we see throughout the day. I suggest you get back to your journey and do something you enjoy. You've already accomplished it once. You can do it again. And as for your romantic relationship. It's amazing you have a person who loves you beyond the physical aspect. But it never hurts to be a better version of yourself. Good luck buddy!

Today was my birthday. There were no wishes by my sister. She keeps fighting for the smallest reasons. My ex who dumped me for no reason wished me but sounded like a lifeless shell of her old self. Maybe she did it just for the formality. My mother is upset and broken due to several events. I have an exam coming up and I don't think I'll be able to pass it. My friends cheered me up with a silly prank. But i feel empty and detached right now. Life is indeed fleeting.

As i grow older, I tend to keep my problems to myself often. I refrain from sharing with my friends because I have a sense that they're talking behind my back and I don't want to be a topic of discussion. I avoid sharing with my family as they don't often understand. To have myself heard seems like a big thing to me.

Something i came across recently, There is an Arabic saying that goes this way: “You want to die? Then throw yourself into the sea and you’ll see yourself fighting to survive. You do not want to kill yourself, rather you want to kill something inside of you.” Stay strong. As long as there is life there is hope

That's a nice way to see it man. So simple yet so profound. I think it's because at night I'm quite, everything else is silent and it's just me and my thoughts. All throughout the day there are things happening around but at night my thoughts just take over.

My dad was getting late for work and my sister was making a fuss and wanted him to stay and play. He still went and my sister was at the doorstep crying. My dad felt upset he let her down and came running back home from the station and there she was crying. They spent the morning together playing. He's no longer with us. The choice you are making now is going to create fond memories for your daughter forever. You're a good man, sir

Trying to hold myself together. But the thoughts start clouding me at night. But I know the only way is through so I'm just walking head first into the fog. I think a lot of y'all will relate to it. Do you think having a sexual relationship is a reason you're not able to let go?
/r/MenSupportMen20/04/22 05:28 AM

That's okay man. I'm sorry. What i said applies to men also. Be yourself. Don't adopt an identity. Don't let the internet or media fool you into being something you're not. Stay true to yourself and don't force love. Love will find you when you're not looking. It's not just words and hugs. Love is more profound than that and with time you'll understand. You sound like a good kid. Stay in touch with us.
/r/MenSupportMen19/04/22 09:21 PM

That's the problem with adopting an identity with no rules. Listen man, most of the time women won't look at you even if you're a handsome hunk. That's the truth. You're only beneficial to the world if you bring some sort of value to them and that's the truth. A man is only loved under the condition that he provides something. I have experience with it. My advice is become something that can provide to society but at the same time to yourself. Focus on yourself. Your career, your attitude toward…

I don't know. The past few years have been tough. I don't know how to feel or how to react. All i know is i have a responsibility towards my family and myself. A lot of people have made sacrifices for me to be where i am so i think i owe it to them.

Lately I've been keeping to myself. I stay busy most of the time and in my free time i keep to myself. I feel tired to go out and socialize. This comes with feeling lonely as well. But yeah days go by and honestly i think that loneliness subsides and becomes just being alone.

Time's been a little rough lately. It gets better in between but I'm trying my best to hang on. These times test my temper but I'm trying my best to handle that as well. Hope everyone's doing well here. Thank you mods for this great community

Keep your head up brother. I think it was a blessing in disguise. I'm glad you've broken up with her. Take care of yourself. You can reach out to our community or me whenever you'd like. I only would advice you to take good care of your health. Don't get into toxic habits to make yourself feel better like drinking too much. You can always talk to us. Take care buddy

Congratulations on your new job buddy!!! I understand doubt is a part of the journey. But i think once you start working everything will be fine. It's a little difficult to leave home. I left mine for 6 years for my education. I think you need to not bother yourself a lot. It's a feeling that is going to come to you before leaving home. And if you every meet anyone to reach out to you can always do it here

I'm glad you found happiness in the gym. The satisfaction after completing a difficult physical task is unparalleled. I agree with the first comment. Try to talk to people in the gym. Sometimes the huge intimidating guys are often the most friendly.

I hope your last line was false. But with time I agree with it more and more. I experience that so often even from people close to me that I've just stopped reacting.

Heartbreaks are devastating man. I was dumped during my exams and a year later i was a rebound for a girl who wasn't over her ex. But as Bob Ross said, you need light and dark. Very soon you'll find yourself in the good times. But if you want some constructive advice- 1. Fix your routine 2. Work on your skills 3. Learn something new 4. Talk to someone you are comfortable with eg friends,a sibling, you could even reach out to me or anyone here who is open to a conversation 5. Socialize in your wo…
