Hey Fellas,

Long story short, a little over 10 year ago, I made a significant change in my life. I put down the alcohol and drugs and began the journey of sobriety. Along side that, I tackled one of my biggest issues - honesty. Now, I don't mean "honesty" in the traditional sense. I mean being honest with myself. I used to deny feelings that I had because I didn't think men were supposed (or allowed) to have those feeling. For example, 10 years ago I would dig my own grave before I admitted that something embarrassed me. I was never able to admit to myself that something was wrong, therefore I definitely couldn't admit it to another person. I would sit in crippling anxiety surrounding my drug use and other issues but would stand tall with my shoulders back because I didn't think it was okay to have anxiety or struggle with drugs as a man. I was very wrong.

My recovery journey has led me through a variety of jobs including working as a counselor and case manager. Many days would be spent working with people to try and help them break through the walls they put up. The connections I've made, the depth of my relationships now, and the true understanding of myself is something that I have come to realize a lot of men wish they had but may not know how to get there. I am embarking on a journey to try and tackle this problem. To do so, I first want to chat with people. I am hoping to get real world insight into what specific struggles men deal with in this area. What are the frustrations that it causes etc.

I guess I am asking--would anyone be willing to chat on the phone or zoom for about 30 minutes to help me gain insight? I am not selling anything, quite frankly nothing has been created for me to even sell, ha. I am purely just looking for real world feedback.
