I am in my late thirties.

A few years ago now my dad transitioned and is now living her life as a woman. We went through some hard moments while we adjusted to the new normal and now we have a pretty good relationship. Not the same dynamic, but we are in each other’s lives and I value her.

My last grandfather passed away shortly after and all of a sudden it hit me that I am the oldest man in my family.

I have two boys of my own and try super hard to be very present for them and really give them all that I can in life. I spend lots of time with them, give them individual attention, and plan for really special memories along the way.

Sometimes I just feel strange about being the oldest man in my line because I really feel like I’m guessing a lot about things and I have something in me that wants to have someone there who knows what the hell they’re doing, lol. Where’s that sage advice somebody is supposed to have for me?

I don’t know that I have much of a point, it just hits me sometimes and I don’t know who else feels super weird to be the person who is supposed to know all the shit, lol.
