There's a few vague connections like women having to collect firewood in some developing countries and climate change meaning they have to walk further to get it which puts them in danger.

But these women are just using the plight of others to further their own cause.

Women do the bulk of consumer spending. While that is for the household it is also for other goods. Last time I saw this discussed I found out that women decide the bulk of the car purchases as well.

I haven't seen research about this issue but I'm pretty confident it is mostly women that decide the house need a new kitchen. And that we need a trip overseas for the holidays.

They built in gender parity to the Paris accord for carbon emission reductions. That was only in relation to getting more women into green energy roles because.... Diversity!

What a weird post. How could global warming not be gendered in its effects?

I have no idea which sex will be more affected but I'm glad to know people are planning ahead for it. They were already starting to think about it 20 years ago when I last followed global climate science.

Most people's activities are gendered, and some of those activities are much more affected by global warming than others.

If we ever decide to move on from our head-in-the-sand / "you first" strategy and actually do anything about global warming, those actions will also have gender differences in their effects too. And of course both sexes would claim to be disproportionately disadvantaged, and that supposed imbalance would occupy 90% of their minds.

The context of the picture has not been mentioned. UCL is University College of London, one of the worlds top universities. For the sort of people planning to spend their life wrestling with the many facets of this global catastrophe UCL is the sort of place they would train.
Recognising their need for networking and that their freedom to speak will later be limited at times*, they might well form a group called Students for Global Health and release some tweets like this.

*The extraordinary current level of censorship of government agencies being applied in the US might not be the pattern for the future, but it is nowhere near the farthest the pendulum can swing. I think HUD is still being allowed to set building standards to take account of the thermal expansion component of sea level rise, but only so long as they use blatant lies to hide the truth of what they are doing. I think they have to pass it off as "increased margin of safety". I didn't look into the details, it is too depressing.
