If I'm in the wrong space I can't.

Me: Presents some real statistics proving male issues exist and are frequently dismissed

Responses:

"Who hurt you?" (If no one, you are whining about nothing, if someone, you are taking your personal issues out on the world)

[Meme about you being a white male, white male tears]

"God you're a fucking idiot"

"We get it. You hate women."

"Found the incel" (whether you are an incel, have a healthy sex life or have been trying to escape an obsessive relationship because a girl wants you TOO MUCH, doesn't make a difference)

Some people have really thick skin, I guess I don't. I do worry all the time about being wrong, but I think I'm right and I'd like a space where if someone thinks I'm wrong they will criticize my sources and present their own sources and rational arguments in return rather than resort to bullying and ostracization tactics.

No, because I know that the types of people who would attack me over what I believe are scumbags to begin with, I tend to worry more about other people that get taken in by them and manipulated.

Afraid is... the wrong word.

I’ve given up trying to convince people.

1 public: I’m very upfront about my experience (which doesn’t line up with the feminist narrative).

2 friends: I’m sad to say that I’ve minimized friends. I like my coworkers, but they’re coworkers not friends. I lost my friends in the divorce. They didn’t “side with her”, they removed themselves from an uncomfortable situation. They had their own issues to deal with.

3 other: no fear. But I’ve largely given up on trying to uphold my social expectations. I raise my kids, I work. I don’t care to date anymore.

It's good to express your views if you can do so without being attacked by anything more than words. The most important thing about these discussions is that other people may follow them.

These silent readers are the ones who matter, not those who abuse you. Some of them will consider your words, and may be influenced by them.

When I'm anonymous on the Internet, I don't hesitate to jump in with my opinions. The things that people say to an online persona are not damaging. More importantly, anyone who says bad things about men or men's rights is someone for whom I hold little respect, so their opinion doesn't mean much to me.

My answers today are yes, yes, and yes. I am in academia, so I have to be extremely careful about what I say. Most people I meet - and most of my friends - are academics, which means that they are mostly feminists. I can't afford to burn bridges with anyone, so I can't bring up gender issues.

I have always been kind of cagey, so maybe someone else in my position would have different answers.

Even living in a conservative area I would rather be openly atheist or gay than talk about being a MRA. The conservatives hate it because I don't believe in their traditionalism bullshit and don't think women should go back to the kitchen and the liberals have an outright hissy fit over anything MRA related and will immediately start with personal attacks or dropping you as a friend if you bring it up or frequently tell other people lies about you.

Yeah, it fucking sucks that I've always been the unpopular opinion my whole life, but the good side of it is that I got so used to being intellectually alone that I never cared much about what people think about my views, thoughts I respect how others feel or think about various topics.

Yes. Especially these days. I won't even keep a reddit account long enough to build up a profile.

We don't know what tomorrows laws will be, or whether they could be applied retroactively by the new regime.

So if you say something now, 8 years from now you could be a criminal for breaking a law that hasn't even been written.

Also, I think computer AI will evolve to identify enemies of the state, just look at some of the things going on in China, and how Amazon is selling security cameras to citizens while teaming up with the police.

In a society where power is acquired through victimhood, perpetrators will be in such high demand the "woke" will manufacture them... probably out of men.

Yes and no, I am more afford to discuss my views around my religious nutjob parents then to the public but at the same time nothing is scared and that takes me to some dark places.

No, if you cant stand my view then you not worthy of being my friends in most cases. Honestly being yourself is the best thing you can do because it scraces away people your not compatible with.

No. I have strong opinions, I will yell them to the world if asked to, and takes way more than some weak shaming to get me off.
