It is projection. They know that the better you treat them, the more likely they are to cheat, so they expect the same back.

The amount of women I've heard reject a guy or cheat on him because "he is too nice" or "he never gets mad, its boring" or "he does whatever I want, he has no spine" etc.

Projection. They'd do it, so they expect us to do the same.
