I read a thread today, made by a trans man, and saw some unwarranted backlash to the idea that he's a man. While I do understand that some people are reacting to his ability to understand a male perspective, having been potentially seen as a woman by others for many years, we do need to accept trans men. Here are a few reasons why:

  1. Trans men who present as male will receive the same treatment from others as a person born physically male.
  2. Trans men completely understand male body image issues.
  3. Trans men fully sympathize with other men, but can also help us understand women better.
  4. Trans men are people and need help just like you do.

And that's hardly an exhaustive list. Simply because people are different from you doesn't make their perspectives invalid. Save the attitude for the daily feminist and misandrist trolls.
