Lesbian women and gay men reported levels of intimate partner violence and sexual violence equal to or higher than those of heterosexuals.

I'd also consider finding out the study and where it's from as well as how old it is, if they're teaching this sort of bullshit in a criminology class that is very disturbing.

If it isnt personally identifiable, can I ask which uni this is or at least which region? I plan to study criminology with sociology after my A-levels.

First gather some data, and only then force the professor to discuss these statistics but publicly and in open class. Avoid confronting him alone one-on-one over this issue in case other students are not present. I suspect your professor knows the statistics he says are made up and that he is using his teacher position to influence students on false data.

At the right point in class, speak clearly with your data and then confront the professor on the statement over where he said "90% of crimes are commited by men". If he insists it's the truth and that your statistics are not well, should you be brave enough, tell him that at least you're not using corrupt data.

In case your professor doesn't even allow you to talk or just tries to silence you before you even have a chance to talk, if you feel brave enough, dismiss him, talk louder and expose the data to other fellow students. Then confront the teacher about willfullingy spreading false data to students and not being accountable for it.

A teacher who willingly uses forged data under vested interests agenda (in this case the feminist sexist agenda towards men) to influence students is a threat to a community and must be sacked.

Personal anecdotes are fine to a point but we're way past that point here. Women commit petty theft and some other things at similar rates to men but you don't see women do stabbings, drive-by shootings, gang violence and so on. Most violent crime is indeed committed by men. Sometimes statistics are true and personal anecdotes are, well, misunderstood.

CDC statistics have nothing to do with crime.

For victimisation rates including unreported crime, the gold standard is the NCVS.

For crimes reported to the police, the FBI UCR stats are the gold standard.

Much of the disagreement over rape and domestic violence stats has to do with the definition of these crimes.

Most crimes ARE committed by men. There are only a few exceptions like fraud and child neglect.

This is fundamentally because:

there are large hard-wired personality differences between men and women. men have lower agreeability and higher aggression, on average.
men have higher variance in personality traits. i.e. the distribution is wider and flatter than for women.
these two facts combined, mean that statistically the people LOWEST in agreeability and the HIGHEST in aggression are overwhelmingly young males.
the same reasoning explains why CEOs, Nobel prize winners, and surgeons are overwhelmingly males.

Show him the studies that show that women are 70% aggressors in DV cases, show him made to penetrate statistics. I also have other statistics about sexual coercion if you want them

Also I would ask why are these crimes committed, Warren Farrell talks about the absence of fathers being a big factor in committing crime, which affects males since they don’t have a male role model
