Last year I wrote a post titled Feminism Over Values and Elevates Men. As I was perusing HuffPo and Twitter today, looking for topics to blog about, I was reminded of that post.
Basically, I posit that the main source of feminists' complaints is that they are not men, but want what men have achieved. In virtually every feminist complaint you will find this theme. At no point do they ever give themselves credit for the value they hold as women. Instead, they constantly compare themselves to men and men's achievements.
In spite of feminism's best efforts to claim that gender is "socialized" and to deny the basic binary nature of our biology, humanity at large fails to change to fit their desired outcome. Men and women continue to be different, with different and complementary attributes. Acknowledge this on a feminist site and prepare to be flamed as a misogynist.
By constantly using men as the standard measure, feminists are actively devaluing themselves. Women have value as women. They don't need to be men. In fact, when they do try to be men, men lose interest in them. When they emphasize their feminine qualities, men swarm.
What do you think? Should women be celebrating their own accomplishments as women, instead of trying to be men?
