It's been found that the gender pay gap is largely due to lifestyle choices. Men work more hours and work more dangerous jobs. Men also tend to pick jobs and positions that pay more because men are expected to be providers. Women tend to favor more flexible scheduling and are more likely to take more time off. The end result of all that is a pay gap.

Our total average life time earnings are more than women's average life time earnings. This is due to job positions, hours worked, experience and other factors and is NOT simply because of gender. In most western countries, it is illegal to discriminate pay based on gender. If a man is making more than a woman, or vice versa, there's a legitimate reason for it. Plus, if women really were cheaper, wouldn't employers just go for them?

Recently where I live, in retail Female shop workers are in outrage because Male Warehouse workers get paid more. The reality is, Warehouse work is much harder and more deserving of extra pay. So to summarize, pay is being given by the position, not the gender. Now, they intentionally structured this argument to look like a gender issue by intentionally missing out two important factors, and they are the fact that male shop workers also make less than all warehouse workers, and that female warehouse workers make equal pay to male warehouse workers.

The entire wage gap argument is built of intentionally misrepresenting data, to try and make it a gender issue, when in fact it's already a perfectly equal and fair situation. This isn't about equality, it's about special privileges.

Factual Feminist posted a video where she explained that men study in the top paying majors and work longer shifts in places where you get paid more. So men generally get paid more, but it's not because of some kind of sistematic discrimination. Obviously the stats didn't consider that, they just took some numbers, added and divided shit.

It depends on the metrics you look at and the variables you control for.

On a gross numbers level, yes men do make more money in total than women do (in the USA.)

If you compare apples to apples, men make something like 2-3% more on average. In some industries it is completely the opposite.

It's a myth made up by taking the average of all people paid, splitting them into men and women but because women choose to take less paid jobs that are less skilled or do other things there is a difference in the total paid amount for each gender. This is never going to change, no matter the amount of social marxism added to the mix.

The "gender pay gap" is just a "gender personal choices about work" gap.

When this issue is studied, the more personal choices that are accounted for in the study, the smaller the "gap" gets.

This is the biggest and best study on the subject. It compared men & women in the same job, with the same job title, at the same company. Result: worldwide average gap 1.6%, in the UK just 0.8%.

That study didn't factor in the number of days vacation time taken per year. Women take more than men, even before they have kids, and that probably explains the remaining 1.6% gap reported in the study.

Here's one thing that isn't talked much about in regards to the hotly debated STEM field, especially the E part. Generally, you will easliy find that women are underpaid in the engineer field. What they don't tell you is that female engineer are paid more than their male counterpart at graduation ( https://www.whimn.com.au/talk/news/women-are-now-earning-more-than-men-in-this-industry/news-story/d722bb16a2e0ed7d9aa4cf5b42fdc834 which links to a survey).

Put another way : women earn more at graduation but with time men earn more. What's happening?

My experience as a engineer student is that women are told from the get go that, as women, getting a job with good salary will be easy. Thus, instead of focusing on engineer things, they focus on other things. I mean for example that even though we only have 15% of women in school, more than 50% of people of "leadership" position, like association or club president/secretary/tresorery/ are taken by women. I remember this former graduate women who were telling us that being a woman was one of the best quality to have as a young engineer and that recruiters never fail to mention 'glad to have a woman'.

The problem, however...

Since they spend so much time on other things, the average female engineer out of school will be less skilled than a male engineed in regards to engineer matters (though I don't doubt the average woman will be better at HR things).
Women aren't taught (enough) from the get go it's a fairly competitive field and aren't taught they need to constantly better themselves.

Result :

Women find it harder to get promoted, get raises and overall progress in their career

As a general rule, I wouldn't be surprised if it applied to a lot of other things. Right now, a lot of companies are put under pressure to recruit more women regardless of actual skills, but then they find it harder to get promoted / progress.

Put more simply, treating women like poor people that constantly need help isn't actually helping them.

The biggest factor in the gender pay gap is motherhood. If you take men out of the equation and compare childless women to mothers, guess what... the pay gap is still there.

I know several women through my daughter's school who had great careers but chose to be stay at home mums while their husbands continued to work. The other mums are envious of them as they have a great lifestyle.
