Activist? Not necessarily. Advocate? Sure

[–]Clemicus[S] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hadn't considered the semantical difference between those two words. Thanks

[–]IlikestonesO_o 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am not a activist because I am more or less a lazy piece of shit that just tries to live his life, but I love discussion and support menrights.

And I ducking hate feminists and their firstworld problems

[–]TAPriceCTR 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Until feminism loses its grip yes. I dream of being able to abandon the label because mission accomplished but I don't see that happening in reality.

[–]TheIgnoredGender 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I say no. I'm just a guy who notices the obvious double standards against men. Also, I don't believe in "group rights", I believe in individual rights. So, I prefer not to use the MRA label.

[–]Separate_Natural_368[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I say I see all of our problems. Labeling myself as a β€œmens rights activist” is way too risky to go public and declare myself as that but when the topic comes up I speak my mind although rarely now as people who I thought actually cared ended up turning it against me trying to make my reputation as some woman hating guy which is not me but unfortunately talking about mens problems comes off more like im a complaining incel

[–]DipsandChip 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I'm tired of these bitches and them toxic shaming men for being men.

[–]DipsandChip 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

For clarification I love women. Just not when they are being fucking bitches and shaming men for no damn reason talking shit like "tOxIc MaScUlInItY" it's like shut up. Birth control is hugely to blame for fucking with their hormones. But Yeah I'm sick and tired of seeing good men brothers of mine shamed into being pussies who are ashamed to cut wood and shoot guns because it's "douchey" bitch no it's not douchey its awesome as fuck. So yeah I'm men rights

[–]DipsandChip 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm also pretty fucking heated about this.

[–]ConcentrateSea2987 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd say male advocate or men's advocate.

MRA is a tainted label (and has been for the last 25 years at least). Sorry, but it's the truth. Bringing that label into a discussion is asking to be misunderstood.

EDIT: I'd add that many of the most serious issues affecting men are not best expressed in the language of "rights".

[–]itsyourgirl238 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yes but with a catch. There's way to much women hatred in these spaces. And it sucks cause a lot of your points are really good and that's overall why I say I'm on the side but yall make it really fucking hard. Like you can advocate for men's shelters and not treating men like emotionless hunks of meat and all that without always aiming at women like it's our fault for some reason. Yall have a tendency to do what like a minority of feminist do where every point you make has to be written up with a warning about how the opposite sex is out to get you every other sentence.

[–]TAPriceCTR 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It doesn't count a a minority of feminists when it's the academic and political leaders.

[–]itsyourgirl238 -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I just don't know what your talking about though. Everytime I see someone saying they hate men it's some undergrad flailing on Twitter or FDS. You all could be so much more successful without the misogyny. But nobody cares about optics or actually getting political wins they want to look edgy online.

[–]TAPriceCTR 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The threshold for what is "hatred" of women compared to the threshold of what is "hatred" of men is absurd. If I say "women work less than men" or "women treat marriage as their retirement plan" it's "MYSOGGYKNEES!", meanwhile #ki11a11men spread for years before getting stopped. I shouldn't have to say "not all" on things which are majority, especially when feminists get away with saying "yes all" on things measuring single digits per capita.

[–]itsyourgirl238 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Then be above it. These are serious issues. I get it. While hatred of men is not as common as you think it definitely is more accepted and that's a problem. But what does being misogynistic do besides make those people emboldened. Plus I mean come on. Misogyny isn't calling out the hatred of men. I'm talking about the people who are like women aren't to be trusted all we want is to milk you dry of all money and shit like that. When these spaces allow talk like that they become no better then FDS with all there low value talk.

[–]TAPriceCTR 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

What you call misogyny, I call giving women less preferential treatment than they are accustomed to.

In a society where women CAN destroy a man with mere words, and even proving those words to be false Isn't guaranteed to clear your name... how can you trust a group who will not be held accountable? In a world where Johnny Depp lost staring roles in 2 major franchises because his abuser accused him (and all evidence said the abuse was unilateral from her) but his violent abuser didn't lose anything, how can you expect men to trust women? https://youtu.be/aca0KWoHtqQ

There was never a law against giving women credit, but there were laws against collecting debt from women. Banks wouldn't trust women because society wouldn't hold them accountable. Only after society became willing to hold women accountable for their debts could banks trust women... wise men will not trust women until society is willing to hold them accountable.

While I can agree people need to look into things in a case by case basis instead of just being so jumpy the reason people get so jumpy is because for all of human history when a man beat a women nothing was done, you could just rape your wife until the mid 80s and it wasn't illegal. Despite that though I will say it does not excuse the treatment of Johnny Depp and others like him and especially the lack of accountability for their abusers. But here's the thing. Your much more likely to be beaten by a man then a man is to be falsey accused. So no you can't use that as an excuse to be fearful of women. And I would tell women. Yeah men can be dangerous to you but that doesn't give them the right to just hate all men because most men won't beat them. But even far less women are gonna falsey accuse you.

[–]TAPriceCTR 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you aware that a man was fined 10k in 2011 for not giving his ex wife enough sex during their marriage. It wasn't just women who were expected to have sex with their spouse. "Cleave into him/her and no others" is in many vows. Not only was sex an assumed part of marriage, but how the hell do you expect to overcome the burden of proof for "I didn't consent to have sex with the person I felt vowed to be the only person I have sex with"? If by some miracle you have the crazy evidence necessary to overcome THAT DEGREE of reasonable doubt, you don't need a special law for marital rape you just use the basic rape laws.

"Far less women"... half the women I've been married to have used lies of marital rape to manipulate her cyber boyfriends and I am convinced that her attempt to seduce me to "show just how committed to this marriage I really am" 1 week before she ran away with #3 was an attempt to get evidence so she could take those lies to the police (hard to pass even our feminist eroded burden of proof that your husband rapes you "on a regular basis" when you've not had any form of sex with him in 3 months.)

Homosapiens are gynocentric. To become an MRA one must see first hand (or maybe second hand if you're exceptionally bright) the bullshit that feminism has indoctrinated all of society with because you must intellectually overcome both social programming AND genetic programming that tell you to protect women.

It's not just women that they fear, it's women AND THE LAW. When men violate women the law mostly tries to make them prove it before punishing them man. When women violate men the law is all to often an ally in that violation. There are women CONVICTED of raping a boy who get to forcibly collect child support from her victim!

Nope. If there is nice peoples here, There is also too much people that lack judgement and common sense and just like bashing on womens.

Everyone should have equal rights and chances, and if that mean fighting feminists or masculinists for it i'll do it.
