At the same time, we have women being told by everyone that guys are always hitting on them, and men only want one thing, and men and women can't be friends, blah blah blah. My misandrist male roommate is especially bad about that. Every time I'm just like "Just because you want to sleep with everyone doesn't mean all men do".

It is a bit strange. But then again, I like to joke about how women want to have sex if I make eye contact with them. I do it because I think it's funny when I'm out with "the guys", but I don't know how anyone can seriously think that way. I helped a girl up at school after she had tripped and was thanked with a couple of punches to the chest. Apparently, I was trying to have sex with her by helping her out.

I'll say that most men under the age of 30 that I encounter think that women who are actually hitting on them are actually just 'being nice.' It's in my experience usually only the spergiest of the spergy or bros that think otherwise.

There's apparently a traditional saying about this in the Bemba language of Africa:

Umu kashana wa mabele ta langwa nshila means "You can not easily offer directions or guide a grown young maiden [...]".

This saying implies that however good the advice is that you would try to give a young lady, it will be scoffed at by her. Her perception is that you have a vested interest in her and thus anything you might say will only serve your own goal of sexual relations with her.

I don't know, please don't think this is misandry...

When a female becomes sexually mature it often is the experience that people around her age are often speaking to her because they actually are interested in her.

I think around age 12 starts the cat calls, looking your body up and down, and invitations from older guys to "hang out/party/go on a date" in every day settings.

As a young teenager there is a lot of blatant sexual attention also in every day settings.

By the time she's older teen to adult, a woman feels every guy talking to her is coming on to her because it is her experience that more often than not, he is.

They only get upset if they find the man not attractive to them[doesn't have to purely physical.]

If they find him attractive in any way [physical, charismatic, humorous, whatever,] they won't care.
