CDC 2010 study puts it at about 1 in 15 for rape, 1 in 20 for other, lesser forms of sexual violence.

For women, the number is somewhere between 1 in 4 and 1 in 5, and is also 1 in 20 for other sexual violence.

The study does not examine perpetrators. The U.S. Justice Department figures show that 99% of rapists are male (in the U.S.). The numbers are not so severe for other forms of sexual violence (majority of perpetrators are still male, but not nearly as drastic as 99%.)

Before everyone freaks over that 99% figure, know that the commonly accepted number for % of the male population that commits rape is far below 1%. So, it means that, of everyone who rapes, 99% of them are male - but even then, that number makes up a really, really, really small element of the male population. The common way to phrase it is "Most rapists are men, but most men are not rapists."
