Biology is a bigger factor in the sense that biology can outdo culture where someone that is hardwired to be a certain way will be that way even when their culture pushes against that. But culture can't make someone something they are hardwired not to be. You can't make Da Vinci or Michael Jordan with culture.

I think people resist this for 2 reasons. One, they are scared that their destiny is to some degree in some ways set when they are born. Two, people that are successful want to believe it was all their doing and it hurts their self esteem and self belief to admit that they had biological advantages other people didn't have.

What's wrong with androgyny? Most people have at least one or two hobbies or character traits which are seen as more typical of the opposite gender. Nature doesn't make all males The Hulk, nor does it make all females emotionalist cream-puffs.

That said, of course some on-average differences in psychological dispositions between the sexes doesn't imperil equality. Both men and women are equally human beings and our rights come from our humanity, not our sex.

The only project that is threatened by on-average sex differences is that of equity (equal outcomes at the collective level), not equality (equal rights and individualism).

I believe that a long time ago, in times where humans were just merely surviving, men typically took the role of protecting and hunting and women took the role of taking care of kids and gathering like berries and stuff because that's what was done out of survival according to their biological advantages over one other. Men are naturally stronger and women have more parental instincts and can see more colors to distinguish berries and plants. But now, we aren't just surviving so I believe that we really have no need for gender roles. Traits that typically differentiate men and women physically and psychologically still exist and we can acknowledge why this is, but I think that we really aren't THAT different when it comes to the things that men and women like. When it comes down to it, I think differences between men and women exist biologically making one sex typically better at certain things than the other, but I don't think that one sex was meant to only be one way and the other sex only the other way.

A lot of the reason why women and men are seemingly polar opposite in what they like isn't nature, it's because men and women were raised to be the complete opposite of each other. If we just let boys and girls like the things they like and society didn't put them into boxes, we would probably see that boys and girls have both "feminine" and "masculine" interests and aren't so different as we think. Even in times of survival, I don't think that men never helped with kids and I don't think that women never hunted either. I believe that even in those times, men and women did both. I believe every woman can be strong and every man can be nurturing if we tune in to our masculine and feminine energy. I believe men and women naturally have both traits masculine and feminine and one sex may be naturally better at things that the other, but that doesn't mean that they can't both do both.
