Even when using the same suicide methods men are more successful (because of fearlessness of death, pain tolerance, emotional stoicism and sensation seeking). So, it wasn't about the more violent nature of men, even when killing themselves, after all.

Finnish presidential candidate (Social Democrat) doesn't want the army to be mandatory for women because they give birth and are weaker. She's naturally a Feminist and campaigning for equality. According to polls almost no-one is going to vote for her, thank God.

The movie Gone Girl seems to be mainly about critiquing the way the society and media demonize men and favor women and how wives have the upper hand in marriages. But nobody seems to have noticed. Spoilers.

Just watched False Confessions: An innocent man faces, well, "female justice". First accused by a female coworker for molesting children, then investigated by a female detective who hides evidence, then prosecuted by a female prosecutor - and then helped to get free by a female lawyer.

I decided to watch Cassie Jaye's The Red Pill. If the IMDB's rating is 8.4, it should be found everywhere, right? So, I pay 3 euros a month for Amazon videos but can't watch it there because "Daring docs" (LOL) are only for Americans. It's not on HBO or Netflix either. Is it anywhere?

Stepped into to a local market with my wife. The cashier yelled: "stop him!" A beer robbery was going on, I learned later one. Being a manly man, I stepped before him. He showed a knife and asked if I'm sure. I stepped aside. The cashier: "You men are no good". Perhaps I'm not a man but I'm alive

The ugliest symbol of inequality in Finland is the conscription army for men. Now they are forcing the conscripted men to take part in HeForShe related education to "decrease violence against women". I'm angry and can just hope that this will turn even more men against elite's feminist ideology.

This is an obvious lie: women invest 90 percent of their income back into their families, compared with 35 percent for men. And yet when you google it, there are dozens of organizations, medias etc which has published it as a fact. It's amazing how even the most stupid and evil Feminist lies spread.

research has found women are more likely to suffer from depression,

If anyone reading this can point me to peer-reviewed, valid research that supports this, please feel free - I'm all for being educated. In the meantime, I call bollocks. If we are to believe the trope that says men are incapable of expressing their emotions (likewise, bollocks) then it is entirely predictable that men suffer depressive states more, and thus top themselves more.

Prof. Deshpande said: “this may support the fact that suicidal desire generally leads to decisive fatal action in males while in females, it manifests as depression, ideation and generally non-fatal actions.”

Yeah, because men don't emote, therefore they don't get depressed - we just wake up one day and top ourselves, and no-one is any the wiser.

Move along gents, nothing to learn here.

Women getting "a bit upset" have lately been put in he same category as men who have so much stress they can't stand to live another day.

Thanks to feminist dogma shoved down our throats. Women don't actually suffer depression as the suicidal men would describe it. But female emotions are of God like importance in our female obsessed society lately. So they class them as the same. Which is a sickening insult to men and to those who ended their lives.

[–]shellbroth 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's like they consider women who regret sex the next day and women who were violently sexualy assaulted the same too.

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or men who face the greatest risk of violence in life while women face far less serious risk.

[–]morromannen 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's pretty odd, if it's intended by that Prof., to make a distinction between suicide and expressions of depression.

[–]Rethgil 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

expressions of depression.

Brilliantly put. THATS the expression I was looking for.

Men face too much stress that they can't stand to live another day, and kill themselves. THATS suicide.

Women act out "an expression of upset or depression".

That is NOT a suicide, nor a suicide attempt. Its disgusting that they use the same language for the two entirely different things when one is far more serious, underfunded and important than the other.

Clinical, major depression is a disorder that makes you - often lie in your bed and feel gloomy. Some depressed people don't even get up to go to the toilet. That kind of depression, that gets diagnosed, is more common among women.

I know that, I have it.

That kind of depression, that gets diagnosed, is more common among women.

It's fair to state that more women are diagnosed with depression; in my view, it does not necessarily follow that women suffer depression more than men.

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep. Not just your opinion too. Have psychologist qualifications. They back up what you say.

[–]pramslam 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Where is the peer-reviewed, valid research though?

[–]boxsterguy 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It seems that information could be easily gleaned from medical records. I think what you're trying to get at is "diagnosed". Just because women are diagnosed more doesn't mean men don't suffer more. It just means men are not diagnosed as much as women. So both may be technically true (women are diagnosed more, men are more likely to actually be depressed), and there's no way to prove the second without men actually being diagnosed.

[–]splodgenessabounds 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. And it's this that annoys me whenever I read (yet another) article that blathers "women suffer depression more" every time there's a discussion about male suicide.

[–]RubixCubeDonut 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It seems that information could be easily gleaned from medical records.

Given how less likely men are to even seek medical attention for anything in the first place it probably won't help.

[–]RubixCubeDonut 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or both men and women experience that feeling but women know someone will eventually just take care of everything for them so they cave in and just stay in bed.

Meanwhile, men learn from an early age that nobody gives a fuck about us. If we don't get up and go to work then our bills won't get paid. Food won't be put on our table. Stuff just won't get done and then they'll get even worse than we thought and we'll be stuck there.

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Misses the point doesn't it. The issue is suicide. Not depression.

Men suffer from that far more. I debate your claim by the way. But that's not the issue here as I said.

Surprisingly enough, they seem to be pretty receptive to this information. I'm not seeing any of the usual banter we see from mainstream SJW's.

[–]BetterBadIdeas 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's disturbing that we have to defend the idea that men who die of suicide are victims and not villains.

[–]Rethgil 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seriously?! This misses the simple most important real point.

Men KILL themselves, because the stress they face in life is too great, and they don't want to live.

Women ACT OUT suicide scenarios except the part about killing yourself. They instead do "a cry for help". Because they have less stress and don't ACTUALLY mean or want to die.

Its what has been the established truth for decades now.

Typically, its only been questioned now by feminists thanks to their rise in power. Doesn't change the simple facts though.

[–]agent_of_entropy 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

That's because when men commit suicide they want to kill themselves. When womyn attempt to commit suicide it's nothing more than attention seeking behavior (which they excel at).

[–]butter_pancreas 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Female here, long time lurker and huge supporter of the MRM. Just wanted to say blanket statements like these are what harm the movement. There are both men and women out there who have severe mental health issues, trouble overcoming the obstacles in front of them, and need help. There are definitely women out there who half-ass suicide "attempts" for attention, but if you stand for true equality, don't detract from women who may commit suicide for the same reasons as men.

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No. Blanket statements and facts are two different things. Don't confuse the two. You let your emotions confuse you.

[–]butter_pancreas 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. What the person above me posted was a blanket statement, not fact.

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Where's your proof of what you claim then?

Since the poster posted established fact and you claim otherwise.

[–]butter_pancreas 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you trying to say that it's a fact that only men attempt suicide for legitimate reasons and all women only attempt suicide for attention? All I said was that men and women deserve equal treatment when it comes to mental health. Right now, the scale is shifted so there is more support for women than men and I agree that men deserve more. But in order to achieve that, it doesn't help to say that only men suffer from mental heath problems.

[–]rocelot7 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Do women really attempt suicide more than men. Logic would dictate that since men are killing themselves at a higher rate than women than men would be the majority of attempts. Now this could just be feminists woozling another false claim ad nauseam. But hospital do report more female suicide attempts than men (I do have some stats for Canada, UK, and South Korea. But I'm just to lazy to go fetching for them, sue me.) So that leaves a gap in the data either men are just very good at suicide and are of complete and sure resolve if they do decide to go through with it. My theory is that when a man does attempt suicide they're failure leave little evidence of an attempt. Lee and excuse a bruise on your temple from slipping in the shower and not from pushing a barrel against their head. Or car came out of nowhere instead of jumped in front of. If these men are unwilling to report these attempts, than these numbers will remain unknown. And though the support systems in place may be severely lacking in their care for men, these inconsistencies can't be leveled solely at these mostly volunteer driven organizations. Here's the rub, if a man lives through events I mentioned above and others unmentioned and find themselves in a life where they find content and happiness, and for whatever reason get asked if they ever attempted suicide why would they say yes. To get hounded by an SO, well meaning boss/coworker, or doctor; are you alright? Are you okay? They hated getting asked these questions when they weren't okay, why when ever thing is going well would they willing put themselves through this frustrating headache? They may possible believe at least part of the lies they told.

[–]Dank_Meems -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why do we still do studies on this? Men kill themselves because their lives suck and they want to end it as soon as possible. Women attempt to kill themselves because they just want attention. It's pretty simple....................

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And well established. The only people doing the studies doubting it are feminist biased due to their interference in psychology. Literally. "Feminist Psychology" is now a thing. Honesty. They have funding and call themselves that. They're open about trying to throw out decades of established knowledge because they claim "women have been oppressed by science and psychology/psychotherapy because it is a patriarchy".
